I agree. No parent should ever have to go through the pain of seeing their child die in front of them.

Family seeks prayers for Usher's critically injured stepson

(CNN) -- The stepson of singer Usher Raymond remained in critical condition in an Atlanta hospital Tuesday, four days after he was injured while swimming in a north Georgia lake, his family said.

A jet ski crashed into Kile Glover, 11, and a 15-year-old girl as they rode on an inner tube that was being towed by a pontoon boat in Lake Lanier on Friday, according to an accident report from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Jeffrey Hubbard, a 38-year-old Atlanta man, was driving the jet ski, the investigation report said. Investigators concluded that alcohol was not involved in the incident.

The child suffered a serious head injury and was flown by helicopter to Children's Healthcare at Egelston Hospital in Atlanta, it said.

The 15-year-old girl, who was not identified, was also taken to the hospital. Her condition was not made public.

The family has held vigil at the hospital since Friday. Usher visited Kile early Saturday morning, but has not returned, according to a source close to the family.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," his family said in a statement to CNN Tuesday. "We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now."

Kile's mother is Tameka Raymond, who was married to Usher for two years until their divorce in 2009. The couple have two sons together, ages 3 and 4.

Kile's father is Ryan Glover, the president of Bounce TV, a fledgling television network targeting African-American audiences. He is also a former executive with Turner Broadcasting, the parent company of CNN.

One of my best friends had to do a not resucitate order, not only on her mother two years ago, but on her own daughter last year... I so feel for Usher and his ex-wife... That is the nightmare you never want to deal with... Your children are supposed to out live you. rose

EXCLUSIVE: Usher Wants to Settle With Tameka Raymond in Wake of Jet Ski Tragedy

Usher has changed his tune and now wants to up his ante to settle his epic child support/custody war with Tameka Raymond after the jet ski accident that left his stepson Kyle brain dead ... TMZ has learned.Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ ... Usher spoke with Tameka over the weekend and suggested that they settle up, but he did not significantly change his offer -- 50/50 custody with a very slight increase in child support. Tameka said no way.But apparently Usher softened after the conversation, because our sources say he met with his lawyers earlier this week and instructed them to craft a new proposal that would give Tameka "a majority" of custody, though the sources did not specify the exact breakdown. We're told Usher is also raising his child support offer "significantly."As for Usher's motivation ... we're told he's very conscious that Tameka is suffering and it's not a good move to continue the fight under the circumstances. We're told the offer has not been presented to Tameka yet, but our sources say she's open to a "reasonable settlement."Calls to lawyers on both sides have not been returned.

hmmm I don't know about this. I can understand him not wanting to fight anymore in light of the tragedy that occurred...but giving her majority of the custody? I don't know about that. Sounds like he's making an emotional decision at an emotional time and should take some more time to think about it. The child support part, I don't care too much about, but I don't think that he should give her majority of the custody just to get this settled and over with. If he knows he's good to his kids in his care, then the custody offer should stay at 50/50.

Why is it that she doesn't want Usher to have joint custody is still a mystery to me. Don't get it.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I've been hearing it has something to do with his mother and current girlfriend. Usher seems to leave the kids with them alot and if true, I would do as Tameka is doing and fight for majority custody. Whichever parent spends the most time with the kid and has most of the responsibility should have majority legal custody. It probably shouldn't be 50/50 if in reality its 25/25/50 meaning Usher has his kids 25% of the time and the other 25% is divided between grandma and new booty.

Another thing to consider is that if there is joint custody then her child support would go down. Wouldn't make sense to pay her an amount typically given to a parent who has primary custody. shrug

I feel so bad for Kyle. What a horrible thing to have happen to someone especially a child. I can't imagine what Tameka is going through and my heart goes out to her. If he lives he might certainly be severely disabled and his needs will increase. That would be heavy financial burden for any parent and I hope Tameka has all the resources she will need. Just an awful shame. Poor baby. pray

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

So you want the little boy to die? Wow. Why are you so angry?

Celebrity or not, I pray (and feel) for folks on the news who are going through similar matters...you know TRAGEDY...that doesn't make me "obsessed" with people I don't know, that makes me a person with a heart.

I never see any of you guys making sticky threads on real people who

aren't celebrities who die every fucking day.

Never.

When one of your mother's or father's die, god forbid not before their

due date, will you make a sticky thread?

You want to honor this little boy's life genuinely? Go live yours to the

fullest. Go in one hunnit. Cos you are going out one hunnit just the same.

What I said didn't hit below the belt to you nor disrespect you in any way. I read your response and gave my opinion on my interpretation of it. Please see Shango's response. There's been plenty of threads from orgers regarding the different tragedies and difficult situations they have been through and were courageous enough to discuss on this forum. Bottom line is, caring for a situation that celebs are involved in, even though most of us have never met them personally, doesn't mean that we are just talking for our health, it means that most of us care and SOME of us have been through it and can relate.

I have no problem praying for someone I don't know because someone has prayed for me. Its all about sending positive energy out into the universe. Compassion is a beautiful thing and I hope and pray for a miracle for Kyle. My heart goes out to Tameka even though I do not know her. Why? Because Kyle could have been my child or any of our children or family members. We know not when tragedy will strike and are seldom prepared for it but the positive thoughts and well wishes others send to us be they friends or strangers helps us cope in some small way. Imagine if Tameka were alone in all of this. It would be too much to bear and is already too much given her divorce and custody issues.

rose No child should have to suffer but they do in this world and all we have is our good deeds and our prayers to make things a little easier. Get well Kyle. It aint over until God says so. This is what I believe. He can still come back. Miracles do happen. Amen.
