She speaks the truth about the so called entertainment industry in general. The sad part is the general public has no idea about she she is talking about and will label her a nut case on the surface. It takes heart 2 speak against the system. Most times, folks don't live 2 talk about it.

1st they destroy your career, then your credibilty and if necessary, your life.

Lauryn did a pretty good job of that on her own.

Do u honestly think that a medium like the music business goes unchecked from the top down? That those who don't play along are left 2 their own devices?

I honestly dont think in this day and age that its the evil empire folks claim it to be. Its a business yes. And theres marketing, image dept etc that goes along with it. that is the norm..everyone knows whats expected when you get in and out. It isnt the days of the goons fucking with sam Cooke etc etc., mob etc goin to destroy ya etc. Thats why I gace ya 20 years for 1993..because thats when Michael began that "Mottola is a devil" shit lol...after things aint go his way as jesus figure in sales that he wanted. But that sont even the point. Its MJ wanting to continue to be adored like a jesus figure and him being a spokesman for the "world" just cause he had a fluke with Thriller. See..these artists when they sell big think they are actually bigger than they are and are important when all they are is someone singing at a mic. But they want to then ;later raise hell and .."make people aware" of the evils of the business or the world. How insulting as if we cant see it for ourselves. they think they are really sayin something or so qualified to. Its all bullshit narcissism imo.

So basically...Lauryn..stfu, especially with her situation. So the machine wanted Miseducation 2 in style, your look, whatever..but u want to be Joni Mitchell now. Shit go on and be Joni on your own terms etc but dont think you are some 'leader" and shit.

Interesting. The fact that the decendents of the people u mention from the 60's forward are still running the 'biz', why would anything be different? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

If the music industry is as bad as you say, then maybe she should find a new occupation. No one is forcing her to be in the music business.

She may be speaking her own version of the truth, but it's the same old story. It's really hard to feel for the one who had more opportunity than 99.99% of living humans on this planet.

At this point, there is no reason for a successful artist to not pay their taxes! It's happened too many times for artists to not be aware that they need to do it! I pay mine and I make a hell of a lot less in a year than she could make in a single night.

Willie Nelson had tax troubles. What did he do? He made music and paid his taxes. Why don't more well adjusted artists release manifesto-style letters like these? Because they are not disturbed, and they take better care of themselves.

Again, there may be truth to what she is saying, and it may be valuable, I just don't apply that truth to any excuse she may be trying to make about her shit-uation.

Hill is jacked on her own accord, no doubt. I'm talking about the bigger picture of the game on how it works beyond, lights, cameras and action.

YEP. Its alot bigger but people will label it as non existent or someone as crazy for speaking out. If you look back at ALL the past artists who tried to speak out about it they were lashed out against... Michael, Tupac, etc... It takes alot of guts to really speak out on the truth as far as the music business goes.

I conveyed all of this when questioned as to why I did not file taxes during this time period. Obviously, the danger I faced was not accepted as reasonable grounds for deferring my tax payments, as authorities, who despite being told all of this, still chose to pursue action against me, as opposed to finding an alternative solution.

So she basically believes that because she is nuts that she should be exempt from paying taxes? Throw her sorry ass in jail!

Lauryn has spoke out about this many many many times before... and was STILL labeled as crazy...

People called her crazy and insisted she should come out with an album

People called her crazy and said Rohan fucked her up which was why she said what she said

Now people calling her crazy because shes in tax trouble...

This is why the music industry is fucked up now because people bash people who try to tell the truth on it.

People are missing the bigger picture and yea Lauryn has issues but she presents alot of unspoken facts that so happen to be true. I dont think her personal dealings should knock off the factual information that she says.

But why is she in tax trouble? Because she didn't pay her taxes! There is no conspiracy out to get poor Lauryn, she broke the law and is being held accountable.

Got to agree with this, i love Lauryn.

And she has been spitting the eveil industry thing out for years.... but now it seem's that is just an excuse for now paying taxes. Famous people try to pull the ''i don't have to pay taxes'' mentality a lot.

And it come's to bite them in the ass.
