Same old post-90s shit

eurasian/balkanic countries voting each other, several novelty acts getting a lot of points only God knows why (Russia, Turkey, Albania) and a cheesy, catchy Euro-Dance "hit" winning the festival (Sweden). Still better than Serbia, though bored

I don't dislike "Euphoria", but I think it's just forgettable, a song that Madonna, Kylie, Rihanna or GaGa could deliver with their eyes closed; typical 00's Euro-Pop with a touch of modern american shit-dance: I'm getting tired of the "eh-eh-eh-eh-eh" shit confused The song sounds like Britney's 'Till the World Ends meets Cher's Believe...

Underrated songs of the night: Spain, and Germany

Biggest piece of shit of the night: Lithunia barf "Love is Blind", and I wish I was deaf neutral

by the way, am I the only one that finds a bit disturbing that Croatia has given 12 points to Serbia??? talk about forgiveness after the war, or balkanic loyalty... neutral

I watched the show and I'm from Sweden. Congratulations to Loreen! People are euphoric in the comment fields of the Swedish newspapers. Euphoria is a good song but nothing special and even if I had been able to vote for my own country, I wouldn't have. I voted for Macedonia. I think it's safter to say these things here than on the Swedish websites smile.

Overall I've seen better Eurovision shows but it was still fun to watch.

No. It's strictly a European phenomenon and quite a big deal over here.

In the last couple of years even I caught Eurovison fever, and me and my dude like to sit and objectively critique the singers & songs. We missed this year's show though since we got back late from a BBQ yesterday.

In the big scheme of things it's all rather cheesy, but the competition can launch careers here (if the participants aren't already in fact big stars in their home countries), and can lead to lucrative endorsement deals for the winners for worldwide organizations or events (like having your song be the theme song for campaigns & international sports events, part of their subsequent merchandising), etc.
