A BET award doesn't mean anything anyway so those artists are better off imo.

Kelly Price????? Jill Scott?????? R. Kelly??????? Charlie Wilson????? J. Cole??? All had good past year on the radio...

BET just cares about popularity and ratings not about rewarding people who really deserves nominations.

Those artists are good but they haven't made a impact in the mainstream except for J. Cole so I can see why they didn't nominate them it is a popularity contest like you said but it's still the same people in our faces as usual that's why I said there aren't a lot of black artist who are hot. I'm hoping the weeknd and some others get some attention for next year. Miguel is nominated right?

I completely agree with your point but this is where Im coming from...

Except for Charlie... They ALL had GRAMMY nominations including J Cole who was featured on a song. Now if the Grammys could acknowledge them especially in the R&B categories.. so can BET or they could have..

They were mainstream enough or made an impact enough for the Grammys to nominate them especially over Beyonce... otherwise they would not have gotten nominated for a Grammy..

So its just kinda of funny that BET didnt at least nominate them in the R&B categories..but this award show like you said is primarily geared toward mainstream (pop) music ...

Not a fan but congradulations on Miguel getting nominated...

Right.

BET awards appeal to the 106 audience so not shocked they not on there (it would be nice if they was though). I would be happy if I was them .. I wouldn't have to sit through that mess lol

nod It's a waste of time watching any awards show anyway. I haven't watched MTV's for a good part of six years.

According to BET AWARDS, supposed to be the BLACK MUSIC AWARD, the greatest winner of all time in number of awards and thus the most acclaimed black musician is... Chris Brown. Well, not in MY perception of black music.

I'll never be able to take this show seriously. Chris Brown disgusts me. He might keep jumping from "wall to wall" grabbing pussies or dueting with Justin Bieber, I'm not buying him. He seems to be the extreme opposite of the musical seriousness rnb was cheered, for instance, in the late 90's, with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Erikah Badu and D'Angelo. He might be able to sing, but having the sensibility of a dumbass superficial commercial crap, and the heart of a womanbeater... well, wathever!

-Wtv u heard bout me is true,I change the rules n do what I wanna do.[Im n love w God,He's the only way - NOT!]We know we gotta die some day,so Im gon have fun evr MF night!Im gon 2 another life. How bout u?
-Im wit u...Ur so cool, evrtg u do is SUCCESS.

What I still don't get is the FOOl that created the Categories....The show is 3hrs long, the ONLY mainstream award show that Honors Black entertainers across different genres...Go ahead and EXPAND the categories...The acting category should have a Leading & Supporting category Male & Female...The Music categories should have at least 5 slots per form of music...

I don't care if they want the show to focus on performance...Fine..Let the winners pick up their trophies off-air...But to have a 3hr show and give out handful of awards over-all is a crying shame....

You can tell the Producers behind The BET Awards got Hip-Hop on their mind 24/7...That is why you see them dissing other categories...

The Awards show is now 12yrs old...It's time to GROW...

If the music is not "black enough" or "urban" enough you not getting in. lol I wish they were open to other genres as well.

You're missing my point ENTIRELY....They can keep the muisc requirements in hip/Hop/R&B....Just open it up to more categories in the Jazz/R&B/Soul/Rap/Gospel categories...

honor the Singer, The Producer, The Writer....Honor the Movie, The Director, The Writer, The Actors..

More Nominating slots within the different Categories...

No i'm getting your point I actually agree with you lol They not going to nominate Jazz and things like that because it doesn't represent what that channel is about. That channel is about hood rat mess so that's exactly what you are going to see at the show.. and alot of the hip hop they cater to at the moment is about that.

With all the negativity against BET & The BET Awards. Still isn't many Award shows to glorify the urban generation. At least give them that credit. Every award show glorifies its categories. The BillBoard Awarsd recently road on Whitney's daughter & insinuated like she was going to perform at their show. When she only gave a speech. Its to get people to watch. I'm still going to try and attend The BET Awards. Only thing I will be mad about is if Miguel loses his category....

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince
