Whitney Houston's Family Lands Reality Series

May 11, 2012
Link

The surviving family of Whitney Houston will star in an upcoming Lifetime reality series.

The Houston Family Chronicles will document sister-in-law and estate manager Pat Houston, brother Gary, mother Cissy and daughter Bobbi Kristina as they move on from the diva's death.

Pat Houston had reportedly been working on an unscripted project about her and her family over the past few years. "The unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show," she said. "However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward."

Reports say Lifetime has already ordered ten hour-long episodes set to premiere later this year. "The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family," said Lifetime Executive Vice President Rob Sharenow. "In this series, the multi-generations of the Houston family will bravely reveal their lives as they bond together to heal, love and grow."

sigh Is this all necessary? Although it reminds me of the Jacksons reality tv show shortly after Michael passed--which also had been in development beforehand.

Yeah to alla that. And don't discount some of this shit Reality Show in Develpment Business as significantly contributing to why Bobby is gettin' the cold shoulder. That Pat and Gary just seem shady to me. If Bobby's name was attached to any of this shit the evil eye would come flyin out of Houston clan headquarters across the sky to wherever Bobby was chillin'.

So it is a bad move, right? All over the net I see nothing but folks bashing this move, but when i'm on Whitney's fourm, some act as if this isn't that big of a deal. Some seem to think this could help Whitney's image.

Am I missing something? I thought reality shows were seen as jokes?

Ok, thought they were still seen as a joke.

That 5% i'm seeing defending this move just baffled the hell out of me.

Well at least Dionne will stand up to her-she's just running every move Cissy and Bobbi make. I think she's the reason Bobbi won't connect with her father-Pat's ass is wrong for that.

no one would have been remotely interested in pat's reality show without whitney. i don't know if whitney would have agreed to be in it before her death, but since she is no longer here, it's irrelevant. the family is gonna milk her for all the interest she's worth, just like mj's brothers.

we know mj hadn't bothered to be involved in their reality show, as they had already filmed stuff (to my understanding) but it hadn't been picked up by any broadcaster - no one was interested w/o mj. they refocused the show to be about them working through their "grief" (yeah, i put it in quotes) about mj, making the show about him in a weird way.

i predict just like with the jacksons' series, it will run its 13 or so episodes before becoming a distant memory.

But where would Pat's check be?

Nobody is gonna pay the kinda money she wants for a chance to talk with her.

But where would Pat's star-interview-turn be?

Nobody is gonna want to talk to he unless she starts talkin crazy or speaks the word WHITNEY nonstop .

Ima start calling her Octomom, cause next thing she is gonna be up to is ....

OK I will stop now!!!!

once again to make the comparison to mj, whitney was probably carrying them like mj was carrying his family. they may have had debts, but on a day to day basis, they could manage their affairs in a such a way that didn't require them to focus on paying those debts all at once.

but when you die, your creditors come first, everyone else second. mj was supposedly giving $60K month to his mom and she was likely doling some of it out to others. but once he died, that probate judge knocked down katherine's request for that much (though i think she got it upped a little), and she's living on much less than before. though the executors have finally put some money in her trust, the bulk of mj's profits are going toward paying off his debts. compared to the money mj's estate is making, she's getting practically nothing.

i'm sure its similar here. bobbi k may be her mom's beneficiary, but she's got to stand in line behind any other creditor. pat is not one of the beneficiaries, she's not getting a salary anymore, and i doubt those candles are selling. i don't think cissy is a beneficiary, is she? so yeah, their revenue stream has dried up for the moment.

Nope. It was her addiction, stank attitude, and slipping work ethic did her in. Let's not forget changing musical tastes.

That reality show probably had little affect on her overall sitch.

That was actually Bobby's reality show "Being Bobby Brown". I dug him OK, but she was confused eek .Again, I don't think it made any diff wrt her career, which was dead by then anyway. She only looked like a jerk, but that too was already known.
