The Killers saxophonist Tommy Marth commits suicide

By Kate Stanhope,

Tommy Marth, saxophonist for the rock group The Killers, has died, Las Vegas Weekly reports. He was 33 years old.

Marth's body was discovered in his Las Vegas home early Monday. His death has officially been ruled a suicide, according to the newspaper.

"Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family," the band tweeted late Wednesday. "There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy."

Remember other celebritie... this year

Marth was never a permanent member of the band, but began touring with the group in 2008. Marth also contributed to the band's second and third studio albums, Sam's Town and Day & Age.

Marth's work can also be heard on recordings by bands including Black Camaro and Las Vegas locals The Big Friendly Corporation, which features Marth's older brother Ryan and younger sister Melissa. On Monday, the band posted a song featuring Marth on its website with the message from band member Timothy Styles: "It's just been a sad, sad day ... A stand-up guy, a totally great guy, and I miss him very much."

Most recently, Marth had been working as the Hard Rock Hotel's nightlife marketing manager.

Marth is survived by his parents and siblings.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer. rose
