Hah! I found it. Evidently a lot of other people thought it was as great as I did.

Here's the entire show..

Guns n' Roses Live at the Ritz Feb 2, 1988 (takes some time to load - press play then pause - if you want to avoid stoppages)

It's also available song by song if you search for Guns n' Roses Live at the Ritz 88

Errrything is just amazing imo. So yeah this show does it for me razz Plus i like to see the fully psycho Axl formed lol

I bought Appetite for Destruction with the original, recalled album cover. That's muh shit. I love the music on Use You Illusions, but releasing it as two albums was the beginning of the end for me.

Slash is a lot sloppier in that show than I remember. He's a much better guitar player now. Everybody else is as solid as the original GnR ever were, though. It's a great show to have captured in such good quality.

Slightly off topic but Axl was probably the last great rock star. Sure, he is 100% batshit ka-ray-zee but isn't that what we want in rock stars? Today rock music is so dull and boring. Where's the sttitude and sense of danger?

Modern ''rock'' is just dance music with guitars now. Unless you count like death metal bands that sell like 30 copies of there cds lol

But really, rock has never been in this bad of shape... confused

I can see where you are coming from and Kurt was arguably the last great rock personality but he really rejected fame and being a star while Axl, for the most part, embraced it. It's kind of ironic that they both cracked around the same time. They went about it in different ways (Kurt killed himself while Axl killed his career) but after 1994 most people would agree that rock music really started to decline and you could say that was partly due to two great bands imploding. No one really stepped up and claimed the mantle as the world's greatest rock band. Shoot, who is the biggest rock band in the world right now? Coldplay? Nickelback? No wonder kids aren't picking up guitars and starting bands, there is no one out there inspiring them to do so!

I saw this when they first showed it on MTV and loved it. I saw them for the first time 7 months after this was recorded and they were amazing.

Here is what Slash had to say about this show in his book:

"It wasn't one of our best shows by any means: Axl was having vocal problems, and though we didn't play badly, we'd played so much better in the recent past. In any case, it was loose and out of tune and punk rock, and for those reasons alone, it is something to be recognized. That footage is important because it is the essence of the band. The crowd was great, and like so many memorable moments, it was over and done before I even knew it."

Disagree and disagree.

My niece and nephew and 18 and 16 repectively and they listen to a TON of rock music, none of which is Coldplay, or Nickelback, and even though my nephew listens to some screamy stuff, it ain't death metal, either. Face it, we're old and not in touch with all of the new music that's being released these days (particularly online, where someone can because well-known with just some Facebook circulation). My niece and nephew both have artists/musicians that they absolutely worship. My nephew in particular pretty regularly asks me, "what do you think about this guy" or "this musician", because he thinks they're the shit.

Also, I read American Songwriter, AV Club, Pitchfork, Spinner and Stereogum everyday (usually more than once). There is a TON of great rock music out there, modern or otherwise. The major difference is you have to look for it because Mtv and radio don't play it anymore. So unless you're frequenting certain websites, buying certain magazine or randomly run across something online, you're not going to know about it.

I'm only 21 lol so i wouldn't say i'm out of touch. And my sister is 17 and listens to all these typs of artists you mentioned. And yes that ole classic you gotta search for it line. There are some good rock bands like, but i believe me & rialb where talking about rock radio & what is consederid big. There really are no big rock bands anymore, my sister introduced me to all these rock bands over the pas year some eh some are not to bad.

But radio was dominated by rock for years, now i rarely even hear a rock song & even rock bands like Maroon 5 are going dancy, i heard moves like jagger in the club all the time lol

Which is sad cause some of these rock bands deserve it, but when is the last time there was a HUGE rock album with big singles & big sells?

There is no rock radio anymore. Moron 5 is making a big deal about how their new album is "most pop" thing they've ever done.

The last two Mastadon records, U2's last album, Arctic Monkeys, the last Foo Fighters album kicks ass, Sleigh Bells, and about 1475 bands that most people have never heard or, or only know as "I migh have heard their name before". I could go on and on and on...

The old about "you gotta search for it" has been around for a while because it's true. Most of my favorite music is stuff I found on my one, often by accident. Everything doesn't need to be spoon fed to us.

This i can get behind, i have been finding bands that mix rock, jazz, Hip Hop, metal all kindS OF STUFF. And it's really cool, but yes i think Maroon 5 is the only decently still big rock band:P

I didn't say that no "kids" were listening to rock music, of course some of them are, but it is undeniable that rock music is at an all time low right now, particularly in the mainstream. The fact that you are telling me that I have to look for great rock music proves my point. From the fifties to the nineties people didn't have to seek it out it was everywhere. There were rich and vital movements that you could really dig into, that hasn't been the case for many years now.

Another troubling thing is that even new rock music seems stuck in a rut that worships the past without moving the genre forward. Where are the new and innovative sounds? There are some great young bands out there but are any of them doing anything new? It seems to me that rock stopped growing and changing some time in the nineties and since then there haven't been any new sounds or developments.

I listen to a lot of different genres but I will always primarily be a fan of rock music and it makes me feel a little sad to see the genre in such a sorry state.

It was everywhere because everyone listened to rock radio from the time they were old enough to understand what a radio was, and then everyone watched videos on Mtv. It was also a cultural movement, in several waves, from the 50s through the 70s, at least. Culture for kids and younger people now is on the internet, almost exclusively (although I know they also discover music through video games, which is weird to me lol ).

Now days you really have to search out what you're looking for because there are no outlets presenting the "next big thing" to us on a platter.

In my opinion, and I'm aware that's all it is, there are endless great rock bands out right now. I even think there's going to be a resurgance in popularity the next few years, because it's time for that part of the cycle to take over again. But as far as what is innovative, that's a matter of subjective, personal taste. shrug I know that I think there are more good rock bands now than I did a few years ago.

Great? No. Unique? Yes.

It's like Stevie Nicks. She doesn't have a technically great voice, but she doesn't sound like ANYBODY.

That being said, there was a Guns N' Roses concert on MTV WAY BACK IN THE DAY! Like, right around the time Appetite was released. They were skinny, dirty and CLEARLY hungry. The show was in a little tiny room and they were killin' it like they were already at a huge arena. I thought back then his voice was pretty spectacular. But just a couple years later it had already started to change.

The more recent tour that new band he's in (because that ain't Guns N' Roses) did was pretty solid, though. His voice sounded suprisingly good. He even commented on how well it working in a couple interviews.

...The fuck are you smoking?

Have you ever heard "Dreams"?

Nicks can clearly sing and had a beautiful voice. Sure, in the last couple decades it isn't as good as it once was (drugs and things like that probably took a toll), but in her and Buckingham's early years with Fleetwood Mac, her voice was lovely.

You need to wash your ears out or some shit like that.
