Gregory Abbott - Shake You Down

One bad-ass song right here! I hear a little Marvin, a little "Cherish"... it's like drinking a fine wine smile

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

My mom loooooved this song. My dad had this great idea to think up a dance routine and learn to lip sync the songs, and do the whole bit, w/ me and my brother as background singers/dancers, as a xmas gift for my mom a la "the cosby show". Went over like gangbusters. She was all crying and shit... hootin and hollarin like it was a full on concert. She didn't shut up about that shit for years. My pops and no dancer or NOTHING like that. Matter if fact....I think this is the only occasion I've seen my dad dance for anything more than 30 seconds. So I could see why she dug it so much. It was quite out of character for him, he really went the extra mile thee.

The local light rock station still play this all the time.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
