Hey but you never know.......

Not to long ago people said Mariah was through and then she released a HUGER THEN HUGE single and it was over from there. Yes before you all attack me i know Mariah was around longer, but my point is she could come with a huge single out of nowhere and dominate the charts. You never know...

but the term OVER to me means you dont record anymore, not anything to do with Chart Success, we can say her "honeymoon" period is long over (mariah that is) but she has a solid base of fans, is she gonna top charts, possibly, but she aint going sell millions of albums anymore, thats OVER, and its over for most, lets be real on that. Bruce Springsteen just debuted at number with 195,000 albums, that album probably when all is said and done, wont pass 600, 700 thousand overall, so is Bruce "OVER" i mean really we have to be able to seperate OVER and just not recording anymore.

As for Mariah, i dont doubt her having a hit single up her sleeve, she is smarter than most give her credit for, and she is also about 11 years younger than Madonna, that is Huge, plus Mariah still has a pretty good radio support, madonna really doesnt, especially with this album, you most likely arent gonna see a radio hit from Madonna for the most part, is gonna be all about the full album, as it should be at this point for her, she isnt rihanna or katy perry, deal with it

eek

wtf dude? why are you being rude to me confused i didn't say a damn thing about Madonna.

i didnt see where it was rude, it wasnt aimed at you i was just stating about the term OVER that everyone uses, to me OVER is what Michael Jackson is, since he is dead, the Beatles are OVER, if you still record, tour, etc..you arent over, this was not aimed at you but everyone that uses the term over. People said Van Halen were over, now that album like Bruce's debuted high but wont sell a million by any means in the states, by everyone's standard here, they are over? thats all im saying and my apologies to you it was by no means meant to offend.,

I would hardly consider GaGa to be ovah right now. She's been in the public eye since late 2008 and The Fame album; then she released The Fame Monster EP in 2010 and Born This Way in 2011. She's probably working on a new album right now and should release it later this year.

born this way just wasn't that good an album. i totally appreciate that she took her

music in another direction. but i just don't like that direction.

the fame and most of the fame monster were just fun and clever pop songs with a

twist. great melodies and catchy hooks.

i also liked her whole look and stage set ups etc etc during that era. in fact, there

wasn't anything that bothered me about her at all, i liked everything.

then came born this way and i was like "uhm.....ok"

only listened to the album about 5 times just to give it a try and see if there wasn't

anything i'd missed or if it just hadn't clicked with me.

there are some nice songs on there, but as a whole, it's a mess and it drove a lot

of her momentum right down into the ground.

on top of that, the look she's had for most of this 'era' has been horrible.

I actually hate The Fame and love BTW and FM. Even though FM is just an EP I still love it and BTW is great as well.

These days,it's just harder to hold the public's attention.Fans are extremely fickle.Back in the day, there was a such thing as "fan loyalty".Nowadays, people move on very quickly.I honestly don't think that any of these newer artists will have the same longevity that Prince,Madonna and Michael had.

There will never be acts like this again.

They are legends... Like another poster said, you be lucky if you had a 10 year career but that is not saying a whole lot or should be applauded. The music industry is not how it use to be and artists are not innovative. It is much harder to get the publics attentiion because everything has been done or people are just rebelling and listening to the music THEY want and not relying on the radio...

Grown people 40s-60s and even some 30s are not listening to the mainstream radio... its the oldies or gospel station... the contemporary artists they are listening to are Maxwell, Mint, Kelly, Jill, Musiq, etc

And even people my age now are not listening to the radio and listening to older music because the music on the radio is shit.... or just listening to other genres....

It seems this era is more interested in exploring other avenues of music. Of course not everyone is but its definitly alot more than before...

I'm assuming - those that think she's over aren't really paying attention; because the noise has shifted from North America to other parts of the world - where she's performing almost every night between April and July - BEFORE announcing the leg of her Fall 2012/13 tour. There's more to this world that the good ole USA and there's more to this woman that music. She SHOULD slow it down - but can't.

I prefer the born this way era a hell of a lot more then the fame era, fame monster era was alright but with born this way I feel shes making some of her best songs, I would (if made to chose) the born this way album over anything else so far, and I also love the imagery shes chosing for this album the whole black & white images and her outfits have been amazing.

I am not sure if this was meant to be rhetorical but no.... and that is OKAY

There is NO one out NOW on the LEVEL of MJs talent of performers and that is okay.... Those performers are once in a lifetime, generation etc... Alot of todays performers just repeat whats already been done and alot of them arent good. I have yet to be BLOWN away or mesmerized by any of these performers out now... no one.

People want that void filled and they think that everyone will be a legend or will be great and that is not so.... There are alot of artists that I enjoy currently but they will never be legends not necessarily because their music isnt good but because their not innovative or have contributed something that hasnt been done already.... There is MORE to that status and level than just making good music..... there is more to that status than just being a good performer...

So? And your old as hell acting like your 4 years old just to stir up shit...

Now you and me both know what group of artists Im speaking on.

I am not speaking on the non commercial artists (Mint, Erykah, etc).... Im primarily talking about mainstream performers like Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna, Chris etc.. AKA mainstream performers pushed in the forefront and marketed 24/7 as being the shit when their really overrated hacks... YOU and ME both know their not on a MJ level of talent or performer wise SO WHY are you arguing with me?

You make yourself look like a complete fool EVERY SINGLE TIME disbelief

Lastly,

I dont give a fuck if Michael Jackson is or is not your favorite artist. I dont care if you are a stan or not BUT its rather TIRED and beyond IMMATURE that you bash the MJ fans here JUST because your not a stan..

Because her demographic is not as wide as Adele's and Taylor Swift's. There's still people who can pull five, six million just on how to please the demographic their audiences are under. The fact that Gaga, a dance-pop artist in 2012, is still pulling in 2, 3 million is amazing IMHO. I'd brag about three million my damn self. lol
