Floyd With or Without Barret?

He was a very talented writer no doubt:-)

But, with that said. Some people try to act like Floyd was not shit without Syd...confused

Which is amazing, consediring they only made a few albums with Syd. And of course got most of there success U.S wise way after his departure. So sometimes i think some Floyd fans act like they ''sold out'' like other bands when they started selling albums by the truckloads.

Discus;-)

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

floyd came into their own after syd left. it's like two different bands, like fleetwood mac before and after peter green. you'd never have got DSOTM, WYWH, animals or the wall with syd in charge

Pink Floyd was definitely two different groups when Syd left... just like Fleetwood Mac and Genesis after Peter Green and Peter Gabriel left. Or like the Drifters when Clyde McPhatter left and Ben E. King joined.

Syd is the founder of Pink Floyd, he gave the group a name, he wrote most of the early songs. Therefore, he is very important, a leading figure in the history of the band, but I like David a lot more.
My favorite Pink Floyd - a period of «Wish You Were Here» and «The Wall» bow

Completely different band without him. I prefer them without him. Nothing personal against Syd Barret, it's just those later albums are sooooo good.
