Now that I think abou it, Easy was probably the 1st "hetero" celeb to die of AIDS. Back then, people still thought of AIDS as a gay/bi thing OR IV drug users. Easy certainly wasn't the latter, so...?

What we DO know is that it seems to be a fact that Easy died of AIDS. But to be fair, can we say for sure that we know with certainty what his personal sexual activity may or may not have included over the course of his lifetime, or for that matter; whether or not he had EVER shared a needle with anyone during the administration of an IV drug, even ONCE?

Oh come on...let's get real here. The vast majority of AIDS transmission involves unprotected sexual relations (esp male on male) rather than IV drug use. That was true then and it is now. Has there ever been a whisper involving Easy and hitting the spike? We know there were far more than whispers about Easy and sex w/ guys, right? If Easy was hitting the spike, methinks they would have played this fact up hugely in those days, but they didn't because they couldn't!

I'm gonna be completely frank and say that the homophobia in the Black community is why Easy's death had the impact (maybe even greater) that Tupac-Biggie's did...people simply couldn't deal w/ even the idea that Easy most likely had sex w/ men. There's so much hypocrisy and naivete about this stuff which helps enable the disease to spread even further.

To suggest that Easy had sex w/ men is somehow so scandalous/slanderous, yet him possibly being an IV drug user is not? Well things haven't realy changed all that much...sadly.

Biggie had good music before his death, but my generation will never trace it back to DeBarge, Isley Brothers and James MTume though it gets people to dance. I remember it was sad when he died but not too many were surprised since 2pac was 2 months earlier and we all wondered who was next and Snoop Dogg was on the list. But the new music came, Hypnotize was everywhere as was Mo Money Mo Problems and it was like he didn't die cause it wasn't like I grew up with him and only knew of him since mid 95' and was continuing on. I still hear those at clubs and parties a lot

2pac has really aged well and sounds great on the radio alongside other hip hop, I hope his estate releases more music. His lyrics really make you think, he was intelligent and I remember loving his book, the one with poems from his childhood. His death was a shock to many from what I heard and saw around me then, I had only started listeing to him a few months before that when California Love became a hit and I thought my cousin had a really cool t shirt of his and I found it fascinating that he had songs with videos that foreshadowed his death and playing them. It's like he knew.

Not so sure about this. Lots of younguns are oldheads. cool Given how so many live on YouTube, I think they are seeking the source of stuff more than one would suspect. I'm a big DeBarge fan and tons of the comments on their postings are by people were turned on to them by their parents, aunts/uncles/etc...

Yup, Snoop had a spot of bother too around this time, but I recall it scared him straight and he seemed to really leave that gangbanging shit alone once and for all. (He went to the pimp thing... sad lol ) Snoop saw that he'd finally landed in a tub of gravy and he was determined to live to enjoy it.

People around my age then were well aware of MJ and Madonna, but I don't actually know how many could trace back samples to older songs. I was one of the ones who did if I was listening to biggie, diddy and mase in the car or whatever was out and my mom or dad would tell me about the original song or I myself would recognize it from something they played when I was younger. I was in my teens those years, but I realized in my 20's that people my age were still acting like teenagers and honestly didn't know of samples in newer songs, I'm aware those same samples were re-used and some didn't even know the mj ones kanye and rihanna used and I was pretty disgusted. It's like they limit themselves or something. Not saying I know everything either, I'm sure there's stuff I have yet to discover too, but yeah...

Eazy didn't die of IV drug use, he died because he put his dick into too many pussies... regardless what "type" of pussy. Eazy's sex drive was his downfall. I don't know of anything about Eazy being a drug addict. It wasn't like Bobby DeBarge or anyone like that.

Excuse me, but why do you assume that I'm not calm? I'm calm enough, but I just don't do denial! lol You actually did suggest something by throwing in the issue of IV drug use. AFAIK, it's never been even suggested (then or now) that Easy had anything to do w/ IV drug use.

Obviously I'm not absolutely sure that how he got it, he probably didn't know for sure either. That said, there ain't all that many ways to get it and there were plenty of rumors about his bisexuality...when he was alive and now that he's dead. I should hope that people learned something from his death and that people can be more honest w/ themselves and their partners about sex. It does frustrate me that this doesn't seem to have happened tho.

Exactly. Bobby DeBarge was a notorious junkie and the facts of his bisexuality came out later. He even did a stretch on a dealing rap. If Easy had been a druggie like that, it would have been known before now, IMHO.

You're excused, now...

For the sake of clarification, and only because I feel that you sincerely may have misunderstood my point; in my opinion, saying that IV drug use can't be ruled out as having been a method of his HIV contraction (because only Easy would know if he had ever shared a needle...even once, or NOT), is not the same as suggesting that he was indeed an IV drug user.

My entire point was to say; the only thing of which we can be reasonably certain is that Easy died of HIV/AIDS, and that no other thing beyond that can be said with certainty - or spoken about in absolute terms. And honestly, I don't think that you, or anyone else, can disagree with that.

As for all the rest of your commentary, you’re essentially preaching to the choir (I don’t disagree with you).

Yupper, that one blew the lid off too.

How did Eazy get AIDS? I've heard some strange stories. Talk about an isolated incident. There hasn't been another well known rapper to get it and he died soon after diagnosis. Something wasn't right with that situation.
