Kid Cudi becomes the latest in the "Blame the Label Crying Game"

In a 2010 Interview with Paul W Savoy of a-ha, he spoke about their fourth album in 1992 called "Memorial Beach" produced by David Z. For the first time a-ha didnt sell a million overseas of a record, and as he said "We did what every artist does when they dont sell, we blamed the label and our team, when if it dont sell it dont sell"

Well we can list how many times we have seen this especially now with TWITTER AND FACEBOOK, artists have a new place to go and cry. Kid Cudi is the latest, and he takes it a step further, calling his label "Lame Ass" and saying if his next album doesnt do 300,000 week one, hes out, guess he better start looking for a new label now cause there are very very few artists dragging in 300,000 week one.

Kid Cudi blames label for weak early sales

Kid Cudi blames label for weak early sales
The rapper's latest album hasn't sold too well, and he's blaming the label
Since 2004, hip-hop artist Kid Cudi has sold over 1.19 million units of music. Both of the 'Day N' Night' singer's past LPs sold 100,000 units in the first week; so, yesterday when Cudi's label, Universal Republic, only shipped out 55k of his new, slightly random, rock album, "WZRD's," he got super pissed. Like, that is totes not enough physical copies of the album!

In his moment of fury, Kid did what any self respecting rapper would do: he bitched on twitter. Cudi told his followers: "Ok so just a heads up, my weak ass label only shipped 55k physicals cuz they treated this like some indie side project tax right off [sic]."

"So i apologize on behalf of my weak ass major label. And I apologize for the lack of promo, again, my weak ass major label."

Well, if his album sales are as dynamic and creative as his tweets, we understand Universal Republic's decision.

Totally overrated with the ego to match.

Got kicked off Lady Gaga's Monster Ball for grabbing a fan in the front row by the scruff of the neck and punching him a few times. Yeah, this clown needs to go away.

Yeah some people just let it go to their heads REAL QUICK, he gets praise from critics and all of a sudden he demands that a label sell this much of his album, shit, he has a contract go out there and sell them yourself, he should be blaming leaks and stuff like that more than his label, his latest cd has been on the net over a month, so he needs to check his own team and see who let the music out, becuase 99% of the time the LEAK is the artist themselves

That's what I'm saying. He just got 'big' with that one single and now he's demanding his label do this or that?? Who is he?? lol

I like the album but I definitely feel that his label has been dropping the ball on him for quite some time.
