The Ronnie Laws thread - "Every Generation"

...

The brother of Hubert, Debra, and Eloise Laws, sax player and vocalist Ronnie Laws originally joined Earth Wind and Fire in 1972, playing sax and flute on their first Columbia album, "Last Days and Time". However he left soon after, and launched his solo career with the Blue Note album, "Pressure Sensitive", which yielded his most famous instrumental song, "Always There." The song became an instant jazz-funk classic. In addition to recording solo and with his siblings, Laws has also recorded with numerous other artists, including Arthur Adams, Howard Hewett, Ramsey Lewis, Jeff Lorber, and Sister Sledge ,,,,,,,,

I have the 'Every Generation' CD lol the title track is just so amazing....a somber yet beautiful melody with lovely piano!! That song takes you to another place. It is quiet storm heaven.

Any other albums I should get? What do you recommend?

"Solid Ground" is one of those perfect albums (for this genre). All Killer, No Filler!!

Perfect from beginning to end. One of my top 10 all time favorites.

Talented family indeed.

Used to cover this one (along with Always There) back in the day.
