George Michael Appreciation Thread

For some reason, I'm listening to George Michael now and was just wondering if any of you love him as much as I do. Post your favorite GM tracks below! (Can someone post Fastlove for me? LOL!)

i don't know why GM doesn't get as much appreciation here. he's a talented guy, writer, singer and musician. he put together wham! as a band to launch his career in a pop band orientated world instead of going solo, although he was the only lead singer. andrew hardly does anything on the records. if you look at his credits you'll see george is credited for playing most instruments on a lot of wham/gm tracks

he also had a similar falling out with his record company

as prince said before the 94 EMA's, "peace 2 george michael"

There hasn't been a GM thread in awhile, but i have seen over the nearly 3 years i have been on the org. Plenty of love for him biggrin

There was a recent one about the new Wham! greatest hits re-release... which had some good b-sides but i still thought it was weird to re-release that & not the actual albums confused

I find that this song doesn't get the credit it deserves enough. Takes me back to being a baby and watching it on my parents tape

OMG I forgot how wonderful Kissing a Fool is....seriously, GM doesn't get enough accolades for having such a beautiful voice...Actually, well maybe I should ask those of you on this thread who are actual musicians, how would you rate GM's vocal skills?

yeah, i posted some GM covers of cds i made on that thread, but compared to one or two other artists, he gets very little here

I love him. And I hope the scare he had recently, and watching his peers (MJ, Whitney, Amy) dropping like flies convinces him to pull his head out of his ass and get his issues under control.

I appreciate George Michael. I listed him among my top 10 singing voices in another thread.

I hope he doesn't leave us and that he will take care of his gift.

Older bores the hell out of me, and that's weird cuz I normally dig adult-contemporary/soft rock/soul albums, but not this one

the late-90s double anthology was cool (L&G) but it was all about former glory, the new tracks left me cold

Patience was...nevermind, lol

seems that he can't fuckin' write a new song these days confused

George is an Org favorite. My favorite GM song:

While the "Star People" remix is the business, I've always preferred this in the haunting original version:

Lost it after 92? What about that song Amazing? Can someone post that here? That was a fabulous song!

Besides, I think some fans get stuck into nostalgia and cannot open their ears to hear new material by an artist. I am guilty of this as well because it seems like most people just want what's easy, and that's listening to the "hits".
