Queens Diamond Jubilee concert

GARY Barlow yesterday promised the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert will be an unforgettable FREE street party for half a million revellers.

The Take That star, who is organising the gig with help from Princes William and Harry, said a host of the world's top singers will perform on the famous Victoria Memorial outside Buckingham Palace.
As well as the 500,000 expected to pack the surrounding area on June 4, 10,000 lucky punters will get the chance to sit close to the action by winning tickets in a public ballot.
They will also be invited to a picnic at the Palace where they will rub shoulders with Her Majesty and other Royals. X Factor judge Gary has persuaded Palace officials to break with tradition by letting him use the memorial as a stage.
More big names were yesterday added to the list of stars set to perform, including Kylie Minogue, rapper Jay-Z, Annie Lennox and Sir Cliff Richard.
The Sun has told how Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sir Tom Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey, Jessie J and JLS have already been lined up for the event.
Rock tour expert Mark Fisher, who has worked on U2 and Pink Floyd gigs, will design the show. Gary, who may also sing, said: "The Diamond Jubilee concert will celebrate 60 years of the Queen's reign with an amazing line-up of world-class artists.
"With Buckingham Palace as a backdrop it's going to be a fantastic event which transcends multiple decades of music. It'll be a great, unique experience for the thousands attending and watching on TV."
Gary revealed how he strong-armed acts into appearing by sending out invitations on Royal notepaper.
They have also been promised they will meet the Queen.
