If he could actually write and play, I might agree. However, he writes lyrics for a track. I don't count that. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Agree!
Smokey exactly composed the music, was apart of the entire production in making the song NOT just writing lyrics and was a very talented songwriter....
Neyo is a dime a dozen. I always thought his songwriting was overrated.

yeah, cuz universal hasn't been doing that already...
marvin's 70s albums have all been issued in deluxe editions. what's going on just got a 40th anniversary edition with even more unreleased tracks. a live album from the 60s was released. the infamous "love man" demos were uncovered and released...
stevie stuff isn't coming out. he won't allow it.
a compilation of unreleased jackson 5 material (including michael doing the stevie wonder penned & produced "buttercup") came out in 2009, following a previously japan only live album that finally got a limited release in '04 or '05.
universal's hip-o select division just put out a debarge boxset containing the full albums, 12" versions, and a few alternate versions.
an unreleased david ruffin album from '70(?) was finally released with a bunch of extra outtakes.
i think rick's catalog is starting to get the reissue treatment. i know they just put out "garden of love" on cd for the first time not long ago.

No "alternate" versions. Only TV-track/instrumentals for Debarge. I would love to see some alternate takes released from them.
I highly doubt if they are rushing to release the rest of Rick's catalog right now. I wish they would re-release Bustin Out, Cold Blooded, Glow, The Flag and Reflections. Not sure why they haven't reissued them. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

You're right. "All This Love" did have a different mix. I forgot about that alternate version. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Isn't Harry Weinger in charge of reissues? At any rate, Motown should re-release the stuff from their lesser known labels like Workshop Jazz, Rare Earth, Black Forum, Mel-O-Dy, etc. They've been ignored in favor of endless Supremes and Four Tops compilations. Although I am curious about that solo album Tito did and the Jermaine Philadelphia stuff. I'd also like them to re-release that album from Severin Browne. Motown is much more than the same 1960's acts like The Miracles they always put on their compilations. At the very least, they should do something special with 'Throwin' Down' and 'Cold Blooded'....maybe some fresh remasters with bonus tracks?

Y'all busted out with The Good Girls. Aww man, they came out around the same time as En Vogue. They were supposed to be the new Supremes over there. En Vogue came out and blew up though. Good for Ne-Yo but not a fan, at all.

^^I see a couple of the Good Girls as Soul Train dancers during the mid 1980's episodes on the Bounce reruns. I didn't know that until recently and I recognized them the line dance. One of them (Demonica) even did the Scramble Board on one episode. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
