I'm a Britney critic but ended up enjoying her dancing, outfit and the song though she sounds bad and Madonna still sounded ok. And yeah Madonna looked hot at the awards though they were 1 year early for the 20th anniversary of like a virgin.

^^ Are you the person who insisted that Madonna was never going to release another full-length album? I keep asking, but nobody will fess up. I really want to rub their nose in it. lol

Nope, I think I remember the conversation you're talking about though. Some people thought she'd just stick to touring now.

Love the era! Have so many memories though she didn't bring the tour here. Her songs were on every station and store and my stereo

The Confessions era proved that Madonna is still innovative, and she rightly predicted the resurgence of dance in pop music, just like she did the rise of electronica 7 years before that. In the last decade Madonna was still a trend setter. Expect something next level this spring.

2012: The Queen Returns

love how she releases a dvd of the concert with a cd of live songs

This whole look and feel was very sex and I love the 1970's

Think it's time for a Confessions era thread

IMO MJ-fans (at least, the ones on this site) are often out of this world: they ALWAYS seem to have an excuse ready, when you dare to put a questionmark to both the artist and the person Michael Jackson:

My remark: Michael was first of all an entertainer and interpreter of songs written by others.. Hysterical reaction by MJ-fams: No, no, he did co-written this and that song...

My remark: Michael Jackson has been lypsynching on stage for the last 15 years of his careeer or so. Hysterical reaction by MJ-fams: No, look at it, he is only lipsynching half of the songs! Or... he was to ill, sick, addicted whatever to sing properly, so that is why he lipsynched.

My remark: why did MJ bleach his skin and use so much plastical surgery? Hysterical reaction by MJ-fams: But don't you know allready, he did suffer from Virtiligo! Yes, i know other persons who suffered from that disease, but none of them did bleach their skin or felt the need to 'rebuilt' their face....

My remark: It isnt quite healthy for a 40+ yo male to sleep with children, right? Hysterical reaction by MJ-fams: But, but... his daddy did bully him, he did have no childhood himself, so now he is a 'big kid' himself... Right... but i am still wondering what you would say if i you would hear these kind of 'excsuses' from any fat, white guy who isnt in 'the business'?

Its utterly scary and creepy IMO to see MJ-fanatics react, honestly.

Prince-fans seem to be very critical about him, and his recent output, but in general they seem far more level-heaved and realistic then the MJ-fanatics who defend him like he is the 'new Jesus'.

Most of us seem to be disappointed first of all that he has been 'underachieving'

for quite some time now, but whe admire his artistic legacy, and at the same are 'straight' enough to attack the person / businessman Prince, when he seems to be making 'dumb decisions'.

I don't know much about Madonna-fans, but i think they fall somewhere in the middle.

Total nonsense.

Michael Jackson DID bleach his skin. It are the MJ-fams that deny it.

To be honest: it even would not be such a big issue for me, but, as i said, MJ-fams always coming up with excuses makes it irritating in the first place.

Keeps wondering why MJ-fams tend to see their idol as some victim, some little kid that needs to be protected, someone to look after..

When we are speaking about a grown up guy with all the money and freedom in the world... a guy who could lay out his own path... but somehow he gets stuck in accusations of childabuse.

IMO MJ-trolls (at least, the ones on this site) are often out of this world: they ALWAYS seem to have an some kind of asinine shit pulled out of their ass, when you dare to put a question mark on their opinions to both the artist and the person Michael Jackson:

My remark: Michael was first a musician who wrote/co-wrote his music. He could also interpret the songs of others in a highly successful fashion.

Hysterical reaction by MJ-trolls: No! Unless you play an instrument and write ALL of your music, no matter how shitty, you are not a real musician. Who cares if that includes people such as Frank Sinatra. He wasn't one either!!!

My remark: While Michael Jackson may have not sung live as much as he did when he was younger, I can still appreciate the many times that he did perform as 1 ½ tours are just a small part of the many that he did.

Hysterical reaction by MJ-trolls: No! Lip synching puts a knocks out anything he ever did in his entire career ever!!! He should have sung live all the time even though lip synching backlash is a way more recent phenomena.

My remark: Even though Michael Jackson may have used plastic surgery, that does not take away from the fact that having Vitiligo was very unfortunate.

Hysterical reaction by MJ-trolls: Who cares what the doctors diagnosed him with. Vitiligo isn't even a real disease. I don't know anyone with it, so it must be fake! The doctors and coroners were paid to say that.

My remark: While I don't advocate 40+ sharing bed with grown men, ultimately, I was not there and must refrain from strong opinions and judgments.

Hysterical reaction by MJ-trolls: But if I didn't see it and there's no concrete proof or evidence it must be true right? I must believe everything I see in the tabloids, because that's honest journalism... Right... but i am still wondering what you would say if i you would hear these kind of 'excsuses' from any fat, white guy who isnt in 'the business'?

I agree about the songwriting. He's written some great songs. He certainly was not Elvis, who truly was just an interpreter of others' songs and entertainer.

As for the vitiligo....well it might explain where part of the sickness surrounding his self-image came from, but it doesn't justify anything IMO, certainly not plastic surgery.

I will not argue about the MJ-man, because I myself is not defined in my attitude to everything around him, so focus on the MJ-artist.

You really do not know what MJ himself, without co- wrote most of his big hits: Billie Jean, Beat it, Wanna starting..., Smooth criminal, Dirty, Diana, Don`t stop till you get enough, Earth song, Stranger in Moscow, They don`t care about us etc
If you know it, what kind of interpreting others' songs are you talking about? razz

Yes, MJ had vitiligo AND he did bleach his skin.

What's so hard to understand there?

I do not see the logic.
If a person is sick and is a necessary measure, how someone can accuse him of this?
Can you then blame the patient who received severe burns to skin and need operations? What kind of nonsense?
Plastic surgery on face - is another matter, although I think the cause is also some sort of mental disorder

Michael was a sweet angel honestly and Im not saying that because I am a fan, im saying it because its true... even with normal people he went beyond and gave unconditionally and was not selfish, was patient AND even forgiving of those that did him wrong.. He loved and gave and its heartbreaking that he couldnt get that in return... While I have never meant Michael I do feel emotionally connected to him and his music and through my teenage years have learned how to control it..

Its rare that an artist can connect with his audiences as an entertainer and as a person while being sincere.
