eek For real, is this like 1954?

Why is it that you use someone you detest as having to be gay. Is being a homosexual like the lowest of the low in your mind. I am amazed that the moderators on the org still allow this thinly disguised homophobic hate speech to get through. To me as a proud gay man, I find this response homophobic and offensive. It is alos very childish. Its clearly obvious the org is not as gay friendly as it once was. Hate is not just a race based thing.

Sweetheart, if you haven't noticed I'm as gay as they come. I'm BLACK and gay, okay? I grew up in a conservative Christian household and I thought "gay" was bad before I even knew I was gay. I could literally write pages about how difficult my life is just because of my sexual orientation, but I'm pretty sure you already know the struggle. I'll admit I still have a bad habit of attributing something "bad" as being "gay" but it's a hard habit to break once it's been beaten into your head for so long. I know I have a long way to go before I can truly be comfortable with myself. And as far as my OP, you have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes. Sorry if I offended you, it wasn't intentional.

Well first of all grow up and get over, being gay yourself does not excuse self hatred. Second you also call me sweetheart, is there like some sort of effeminate vernacular I am suppose to conform to. I am a proudly male gay, I do not call my partner sweetheart, darling, honey etc or use words like fabulous. I have no desire to dress up in womens clothes or wear make up because I am gay, and I am certainly not involved in a struggle, I find I have struggles in my life, but being mixed race or gay is not any part of them, being overqualified and underemployed is. It is actually possible to be a gay who does not have to dismiss anything naff or inferior or gay or suggest someone I really detest has to eat pole sausage (I mean really what a weak metaphor!!).

You excuse it a bit, but still to hear you are gay and using this shit, wow, it must be tough in the Christian heartland.

Still LOVE not hate is the answer, love who you are and others will love you too.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I have never liked their voices nor the music.. it seems "childish" to me... Not childish as in immature, but music made for children... I wouldnt say they are in the same category as the other 3 I listed, because lets face it, those 3 are ANNOYING AS HELL lol

Whenever a beatles song comes on it makes my body crinch... I know, I know, im probably the only oddball in the world who feels this way but GO ELVIS!! lol

Not only, but you're on the wrong way. lol
The Beatles wrote many classic songs, their music ahead of time, and harmony are phenomenal. Voices ... yes, they were not the greatest singers, but I believe that their voices are not bad.
Elvis never wrote a hit for himself. He was an icon, perhaps the Greatest icon in music history, he had a good voice, but that is all I give him credit.

Out of the 4 I listed if I HAD to only listen to one of them for the rest of my life, Id choose the Beatles

If I had to choose only one artist whom I would have had to listen to the rest of my life - it would have been the Beatles! smile

I wont deny their place in musical history, I will agree they do harmonize nicely, but... they just dont do it for me.. lol

My only beef is I think groups like Led Zeppelin blow the Beatles out of the water, and while they are well liked they dont have Beatle status... I just have never understood the love they get...

If we get stranded on a dessert island together and only have 1 ipod and its filled with Beatle music, I would let you have it hug

lol

People I can't stand but don't necessarily hate:

Beyonce: I mean, I love her DC stuff and some of her solo work. But just lately...I'm sick of the that damn blond weave she's wearing. Girl, you are not a white girl. You and Shakira need a chill pill, fo'real. And I just wish the girl would slow down and do something worthwhile. Her music is utter crap as of recent. Girls Who Run The World is the biggest earsore I've heard in ages.

Lady Gaga: Little "monsters", you can all kiss my ass. I don't hate her, but she's a complete and utter poser. And anyone who says she's so innovative, she invented all that shit, get fucking real. She STOLE (not borrowed) STOLE from every other successful artist. And to top it off, her sense of self-importance makes me want to vomit. I mean, her cult following make MJ stans look sane. She has talent, but decides to waste it on making crap music and worhtless music videos. Judas is the biggest culprit. Oh, and stop covering the classics.

Ne-Yo: get outta hurr!!!

Patti Labelle: Really I can't stand her outbursts. Someone needs to hand that woman a percocet. Seriously. But she's talented, so I have no musical qualms with her.

Kanye muthafuckin' West: Oh you arrogant prick. Do you do anything but fucking steal from Michael Jackson and then call it your own shit? Fucka get outta hurr!!! That giant inflatable head of MJ scared the fuck outta me.

Usher: Get your own act, muhfugga. Michael Jackson is not a genre of music. Stop jacking his swagger please.

Chris Brown: Refer to Usher.

Drake: Total Poser. Nuff said. Him and that other mofo Trey Songz.

Rhianna: Your music is absolute noise. Please quit and become a model. At least you can still make a living without opening your mouth.

Xtina: Oversinging does not equal soul. So please stop.

That's all I can think of for now.

lowkey

i dont hate beyonce but she has to be at least top 3 of the most overrated pop stars of all time. i dont think she has a great voice but she is a pretty good entertainer. yes she sing better than rhianna and others but she dont make better songs. matter fact one of the things that piss me off about her is the dumbass songs she makes and the 50 videos she release per-album. now her husband is a different story, i really hate him. lets see who else i hate...justin timberfake, eminim, lil wayne, drake, niki menage, im sure theres more i just cant think of them right now

Yeah I have to agree with the both of you. I don't really understand why everyone overrates the hell out of them either. They do have some great songs, but to classify them above and beyond everyone else ever?

Nope.

To me it's just hardcore baby boomer nostalgia. cool

( I am aware of a lot of their achievements and just what they have done for music, but in terms of just listening to their music, as is, is what I mean.)

I like the Beatles but I am not a rabid fan and I think it is obvious why they are so revered. They managed to combine commercial and artistic success in a way that few, if any, other artists ever managed. They were huge pop stars while at the same time they were very experimental and pushed the boundaries of what a four piece rock band could do.

Now, of course their music is not going to appeal to everyone and it is fine for people to dislike them but it is hard to argue with the success that they achieved, both commercially and artistically.

Especially the experimentation the did, it was and still is amazing. Especially on stuff like The White Album & Revolver

I sometimes wonder if people who say they 'hate' the Beatles only know their more simple, straightforward songs from their early years? You know the period of the black-and-white material, with the screaming girls and song titles like 'I want to hold your hand' and 'love me do'.

Indeed: these songs might sound childish and naive on surface, but EVEN then they were allready doing something 'fresh' with rock and roll. They were using the more rythmic, blues-based elements of 'american' rock and roll, and mixing it with a more 'european' sense of melody and harmony.

In fact, i think when you really look at it, those earlier albums were probably more influential on pop-music in general, then those later, more experimental albums. They were the ones that made the Verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-chorus structure the norm in todays popmusic.

And indeed, when you think the Beatles are too 'childish', maybe you should indeed listen to later, more experimental or mature work like Strawberry fields forever, Eleanor Rigby or The medley on Abbey Road.

I agree with Rialb here: The Beatles are surely not my personally favourite band, but i can definitely acknowledge how much they meant for popular music and therefore i won't never say i 'hate' them.

I see Tina,

It's fine with me... sometimes you personally dont have a connection with a certain band or artist at all.

For example, people seem to keep raving about Pink Floyd and Radiohead.. and they do nothing to me, so...
