He sounds like the old RT with a little Michael McDonald thrown in for good measure. I'm glad to hear him returning to his original sound. The arrangements and orchestration are tight too. cool

Robin Thicke, Love After War

Album Review
* * * R&B

Robin Thicke has always been a lover, not a fighter. His sensitive-but-sexy soul man persona rests on not letting desire spill over into aggression. This latest effort can find him self-consciously smooth at times, suggesting too much artful foreplay.

Still, this is a consistent showcase for his dextrous singing, which evokes pop/R&B icons from Marvin Gaye to Michael McDonald, and his ability to serve old-school textures with a fresh and not-too-shiny finish.

Now that I've listened to the whole album. I'm happy to say this one reminds me of Evolution with an updated but less polished sound. My favorite song is Mission, but I've always preferred his grown and sexy love songs.wink It won't break any sales records but he's holding his own. Good Job Rob! Paula should be proud.

Am I crazy or does "Love After War" sound a bit like "Walk Me Home" by Mandy Moore?

Not that I expect anyone here to know this song...lol

I used to love this song as a kid lol. But anyway I could never get into Robin he has a poser vibe . I always thought he was more real with the long hair.
