The actor in that movie that played Little Richard, Leon, reminded me exactly of my best friend Shannon. I wonder if Leon can measure up to my friend. If he can, then he should have been playing Big Richard. evillol

Mr. Richard Penniman was something wasn't he? Coke-fueled, rockin', and raw! People need to sing praises high and low on the genius of this one man. I can definitely see where Prince, MJ and everybody else jocked some stuff. Specifically, I'm getting a Parade-era vibe from these clips.

Great thread. Don't give up hope...Little Richard said (a few years ago) that plans are still in effect to make the REAL bio-flick that will include EVERYTHING.

People look at me like I'm crazy when I say I'm a fan of Little Richard. This man is truly the REAL king of rock and roll and raised the bar for everyone after him..(including our boy).

I know Little Richard borrowed from 'Esqiruta' (spelling?) but Little Richard made it his own thing.

Yeah he took what Esquerita did and took it to a nether region...

The amazing thing about Little Richard is that his legacy rests on a very small body of work. How much more great music would we have received if he hadn't walked away at the peak of his powers in 1957? He was just warming up!

So true!!!, i mean he had album in the 80s, and the second coming in the 70's. Not to mention duets with Elton John, living colur & doing the magic bus theme song haha.

But that breif 50's period if his most classic.
