It's 1979. When I woke up this morning, they were doing their second performance and singing "You've Been". I set my VCR to record it since it comes on at such rediculous inconvenient times. They need to air it around midnight when I will always be awake. I was asleep when they did their first performance but I'm assuming it was "Move Your Boogie Body". McFadden and Whitehead was on there too performing "Ain't No Stopping Us Now". I can't wait to watch the tape this evening and see The Barkays first peformance.

I've been wanting them to air a Barkays episode ever since they started airing the old episodes back in 2006. My third favorite artist of all time today, The Barkays, my second favorite artist of all time yesterday, Rick James and he was even with Teena Marie. Hell, I'm about ready to cum right now. lol

Keep 'em coming and stay in the late 1970s from around 1978 on up to the early 1980s around 1982. Keep 'em coming, keep 'em coming dammitt!

What I don't get is Don Cornelious made a deal with BET to broadcast the annual "Soul Train Awards", so why did "BounceTV" pick up the "series" instead of "Centric"?

Magic Johnson recently bought and owns the Soul Train episodes now. He was on Jay Leno last week and Jay asked him about it, and showed a clip of Magic "dancing" on the show. lol Nothing was mentioned about any syndication though. Don sold the rights a few years ago to some company and they were the ones who released the DVD set that were advertised on infomercials. Don always refused offers for video releases.

Scriptgirl....oh Scriiiiiiiiptgirl......Where arrrrrre you, you lovely lady you??????

You're going to be pissed when you hear who's on this episode that is on right now. It's a 1978 episode with Switch. Another group is on that I've never heard of before called The McCrarys.

I'm getting pissed though because the broadcast keeps breaking up and fading to a black screen every few seconds. It's ruining my recording. They need to get that shit straightened out before Switch comes on.

Sometimes the channels on the coverter box go out because of the type of antenna. Although it's supposed to be digital, I still have to use the rabbit ears for the box to work and rotate it if the channel freezes. Other times a channel itself goes out and it will say "no signal". Never had these problems pre-digital. lol

Yeah, the Bar-Kays performed "Move Your Boogie Body". First time I've ever seen that performance. But I'll always associate that song with the Jazzercise lady lol

When I hooked those converter boxes up, I spent a lot of time positioning the rabbit ears to get the strongest signal possible on the channels that I watch. I rarely have to move them. If I switch over to one of those ghetto networks such as CW or Fox, the picture may freeze a little because the signal isn't as strong on those two, but I don't move the antenna because I've got them perfect for the other networks. I never watch those two channels anyway because I hate Jerry Springer and those silly ass court shows. It's funny though because when I had cable, the Fox News Network is the most conservative racist network but the Fox channel that shows TV shows airs the most degrading ghetto and redneck shit on TV. lol

When it blacked out during "Soul Train", I think it was due to the bad weather outside because the TV upstairs in my bedroom was doing the same thing on the same channel.

This one wasn't so hot but could have been. The Whispers performed "A Song For Donny" for their first song and their second song was a song on the album that never got any airplay. They know good and damn well they should have performed "And The Beat Goes On" and "Lady".

It was 1979 probably so no they didn't perform those songs on that broadcast. lol

Bounce TV has not been added to the cable system that serves Northwest suburbia Chicago.

All details about all episodes of Soul Train, particularly those that have NOT been shown on

Centric, that you do get to watch would fulfill the interests of us people

who lack access to Bounce TV.

Deliciously Yours,

DJK

Don't you hate when artists would go on the show, but perform the wrong songs? lol "A Song For Donny" is a nice song, but it's sappy and depressing. They should have performed "And The Beat Goes On" and "Out The Box"...two uptempo jams that would make viewers rush out to buy the album!

They were on a roll all last week with Rick James, Teena Marie, Switch, Deniece Williams, Switch, and two Barkays episodes. They've been slipping all this week though going too far back. If the studio has the two railroad tracks going through the "Soul Train" sign on the stage, then you've gone back too far.

Thank you for the updates.

Two Bar-Kays episodes? I did miss good stuff.

I'll bet Switch was also quite interesting.

As a consolation prize, Centric showed an episode

last week that had Kool & the Gang perform "Jungle Boogie" and "Hollywood Swingin".

And that one was an episode that WGN aired prior to Centric getting the episodes. I see Centric is still fucking up. lol
