I grew up with the lead singer, Corey. He was always an adventurous type. One of my many favorites, from this group.

This is my favorite track on Vivid. The chorus sounds very anthemic.

I saw their gig in Turku, 1991. It was a good band those days. Does anyone know, what they are doing now?

they broke up in the mid 90s, reunited in 2000 and have released to really good albums since. they tour all the time.

Great band, who should have gained more (commercial) respect then they actually did. Especially their first two albums are great IMO.

It sometimes feels like they they are seen as some one-hit wonder in the USA. Most people nowadays only know their song Cult of Personality, and some even seem surprised when they find out its a black band (hence the reactions on youtube).

In terms of importance and influence within the cross-over / funk-rock scene of the nineties i rank them on the level of The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Unfortunately they never did reach the same type of succes.

Some of my favourite songs by them:

I want to know (sounds a bit like a funky Van Halen)

What's your favourite colour baby? (thanks to James Brown wink )

Pride (just a great rocksong)
