AL B SURE , INDEED, AND I AM SURE OF THAT it IS SEXIER,SMOOTHER and softer to listen to, I've heard many that disagree. I love that whole cd of his: 'PRIVATE TIMES...... AND THE WHOLE 9'. Eagles does it better for me although Al B. Sure does have his own unique sound, gotta give him that.
As far as Al B. Sure covers go, I thought his treatment of Killing Me Softly from his first album was damn near equal to the original.

Al B. Sure's remake is embarassing There are some classic songs that should never be remade. This is one of them.

Al was always easy on my eyes but very hard for me to listen to. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

mark it down in the annals of music history. August 20, 2011 at 10:43 am Pacific time: the moment the Internet finally ran out of "Vs." threads.

Al's version is ridiculous. He removes the sinister feel of the original and it just sounds like any other smooth jam. I mean, musically, it is perfectly fine, but he doesn't seem to understand the tone of the original song.
It also seems like a pretty transparent way of trying to generate attention by doing such a famous song that is not in your genre. My Legacy

Very good point and the fact that he made this the first song on his album,it just shows that he was trying too hard to gain credibility.

He did the same on his debut with "Killing Me Softly". Ugh.

The Eagles of course.
But I do like Al B's cover of MJ's "Lady In My Life". I think he did a good job.

I really don't like the Eagles at all, and I still think this is preposterous.

Al. B. Sure's cover is absolutely horrid. all evidence of it should be burned with the ashes sent into the blackest part of space...never to be found, seen, or heard again.
actually i take that back... if aliens were to find it, they would surely kill us all. [Edited 8/20/11 20:26pm]
