Sisqo "thong song". More then 10 years on.......
Remember the spring/summer of 2000? Now this was a summer song LOL. It was everywhere, and as I was someone in my mid teens, I cant help but remember this tune with fondness.
How does it hold up today? I think it stands up pretty well considering, with that silly bridge "dumps like a truck...guys so what what what what?". Love those lyrics
For a hot second he was a challenger to Usher aswell. Remember that LOL.
Anyway fun song, and I generally don't like this era of pop music much.

Always loved it, always will. I was a big Dru Hill fan and never really into Sisqo as a solo act, but this song is the business! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Ah, this era. When people didn't think taking shitloads of loan would ruin their lives in the future and shooting music videos with a fisheye lens made them look like the most luxurious thing on Earth. Great memories.

Sisqo's solo career ended too soon. He really should have taken off. I liked this song as well as the 2nd single, "Incomplete."

Sisqo lost all credibility as a man the moment all Dru Hill fans were able see & hear how much of the total diva he really was (and still is!) just that infamous radio interview simple because Woody didn't want to be in the group anymore due to religion/spiritual conflicts. And lets not forget that a massive fight did break out with all 4 original members that same moment.
Even today, Woody is still bother about the dragon being a part of the Dru Hill trademark logo. Anyone that is veteran of bible studies and/or conspiracy research would understand exactly how Woody feels.

Wow you guy's shit on modern club music.. but like this? it's just like modern club music dumb what is so special about this song.?, it's no different from any other club anthem like Lollipop or low or yeah or snap ya fingers. [Edited 8/18/11 16:21pm] Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I've always enjoyed the way the song starts an octave lower for the first verse and chorus. It showed more restraint from Sisqo than I was expecting. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Sisqo is a pretty talented singer and "The Thong Song" was huge. I'm suprised he faded so quickly, but I remember hearing "The Thong Song" in 8th grade at recess actually lol. A classmate of mine told me that I had to hear this new "great" song. I thought it was awful and kinda nasty when I first heard it, ha but I grew to love the song and still do today.
Sisqo or Dru Hill need to put out a new album. I don't know what happened to all the male/female groups! They've all dissapeared it seems. "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

Every time I think of the song now I think of when Dave Chappelle recalled the song being played while a woman gave birth in a dance floor.

2000 was the year of dumb club music. God it's like how many times "Thong Song" and "Who Let the Dogs Out?" was gonna be played? I was ready to snap a twig and put it through my ears. I tried to get into the album that featured "Thong Song" but other than "Incomplete" I wasn't feeling it.

It was empty trash then and is empty trash now. It was popular the way a catchy commercial jingle is. Everyone seemed to like it which in essense told you how simple it was. It killed his career.
