Former Lauryn Hill band mates sue singer for failing to pay them money on 2007 European tour

Ex-Fugees singer Lauryn Hill accused of verbally abusing band and 'failing to pay up' in new lawsuit

Her European tour ended in 2007, but one of Lauryn Hill's former band members says she still hasn't paid up.

According to guitarist Jay Gore, the Grammy Award winning singer was a nightmare to work with.

Gore filed a lawsuit accusing Hill of berating fellow musicians and failing to pay them.

'After shows, Hill would demand that the musicians and road support personnel attend meetings where she would engage in a person-by-person critique and berating,' Gore wrote in court documents.

In his words, Gore said Hill 'exhibited the type of behaviour for which she had gained public notoriety which contributed to a hostile work environment.'

He added: 'At one point, Hill made a statement in front of the tour personnel to the effect that 'I can't believe I am paying you fools, you should be paying me.'"

Gore is demanding $20,000 for his troubles and his lawyer Nicholas Andrea told TMZ Gore is sure that other musicians have been mistreated by Hill too but were reluctant to come forward.

If the allegations are true, perhaps Miss Hill has been preoccupied with work and caring for her large brood of children.

The singer gave birth to her sixth child last month, although the identity of the baby boy's father has not been revealed.

It emerged that the singer was pregnant just three months ago, but her long-time partner and father of her other five children, Rohan Marley, took to Twitter to tell fans he is not the father.

Soon after the baby's birth he tweeted: 'I'm forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son. I'm sure she'll appreciate the love being sent to her.'

The 39-year-old is the son of Bob Marley and has been in a relationship with Hill for 15 years.

hmmm So I guess this is how the rest of her career is gonna play out....

*no new music

*concerts that start up to three hours late

*erratic behavior

it's sad that she chooses to go out like that. She had so much potential.

Well she isn't the only artist out there not paying her band and staff in full. Just part of the business I guess. shrug
