Juliette Valduriez... remember that name...

...because she rocks balls. And she's pretty hot, too. lol Evidently she's French. Don't know much else about her - just discovered a video of her playing guitar yesterday. There's a bass and piano in the background of some of the videos, so I'm guessing she plays those, too.

I know there are a few other female shredders on the Tubes, I just think Juliette is showing the most complete ideas and clean technique combined with some good feeling in her playing. Hope to see/hear some completely original stuff from her in the future.

And she has some kind of Kaoss Pad in her guitar. eek

Her rendition of Voodoo Chile was horrendous. Playing cover tunes is okay if you are trying to get a gig at a casino.

Holla back when she plays something she wrote. Otherwise, she's the guitar version of that white chick on youtube copying every rappers' song with the dude semi-playing keyboards. Karin? Karmin? Whatever.

There are thousands of shredders on youtube. Its only good if you made it up.

I remember her name when she does something memorable.

Can she do pull-offs with her nipples? I'd remember that. lol

Well we're going to have to agree to disagree about a lot of what you said. She did write the solo over She's So Heavy, and her interpretation of the vocals on the Floyd song is also pretty damn stellar. The Jimi song isn't my favorite, but its better than what I've heard about 1000 other people do to that song (and while I love Jimi A LOT, his solos were often a sloppy mess lol ). I don't think she's particularly trying to copy anybody in any of those other videos, either - the solos are her own. Also, I'm pretty sure that some of the tracks she's playing over are also her. She's definitely better than most of the YouTube "cover artists" I've seen and there is no way I would compare her to somebody rapping somebody elses rhymes. The two don't equate for me at all. This girl is actually playing an instrument and she's doing it quite well (better than a lot of what passes for "talent" in the world of "popular music" these days).

Regardless, I DON'T disagree with you about her needing to write/produce something of her own. I'm hoping/thinking that maybe the reason she's gone is that the videos got her some attention and she's working on that. Either that or all the comments freaked her out and she ran away. lol shrug

She IS good - she's leagues ahead of that Orianthi girl (who is being hailed as the saving grace of female guitarists - exactly why, I don't know).

AND....Juliette is gorgeous.

I hope her career takes off.

"I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day

Well, maybe I listen to more youtube guitarists than most people because while I agree that she is talented, she's nowhere close to the best I've heard on youtube. I wouldn't call her miles ahead of Oranthi, either. They are both "textbook" shredders. She is young and I'm sure she will grow into her own style. I hope she does. I'd like to hear some of her work then. She has the skills. She just needs to develop a personality on her instrument. Right now, her playing style sounds like it came from metal instructional videos.
