I often hear people in the music game talk about 'songwriting' and all they mention is lyrics. I always considered songwriting to be the combination of composition (ie MUSIC) and lyricism. This was further confused by the term 'producer' in hip-hop circles which seemed to actually mean composer. Your thoughts on the difference between these terms and who has misappropriated them?
