The Soul of Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions

The Soul fans in the UK among you are going to love this one ... For the first time ever, The Impressions of Curtis Mayfield fame will come to England next week to headline their own shows. This is one of the greatest and most influential Soul vocal groups in music history, people!!

With Curtis gone, the Impressions today consist of original members Fred Cash and Sam Gooden as well as Reggie Torian, who joined the group after Curtis' departure and was their lead vocalist throughout the 1970s.

The Impressions are being backed up by the Curtom Orchestra, a group dedicated to preserve the Curtis sound like no other, featuring some of the UK's finest Soul musicians, including Nick Van Gelder (Jamiroquai) and Simon Bartholomew (Brand New Heavies.)

After the London show, we'll host and aftershow party at Madame Jojo's with DJ Snowboy and myself playing the Curtis Mayfield sound and other rare 1960s and 70s Soul and Funk.

If you're in London or Manchester, don't miss out on this rare chance to see one of the greatest legends of Soul music!

Stop your whining! Some kid gave up a kidney so he could purchase an iPad. Google, 'donate an organ'... problems solved and you'll have some change left over for a good dinner too. razz

You know the legends love London ... smile

Jazz Cafe brings back many memories. There was a time when I played there on almost a monthly basis .. but things have changed. And the Impressions needed a bigger venue. Tickets are selling fast ... hurry up and make sure to say hello. razz
