George Clinton Hospitalized

I don't know the details but I read on Bootsy Collins Facebook page that GC has been hospitialized. He posted later that he is doing better. Just wanted to let the Funkateers here know so we can let our prayers flow, too.

Okay funkateers, our Captain of the Mothership has been hospitalized. Ineed yall to send up smoke signals, love vibes, prayer's whatever you got, because our great Dr.Funkisien needs us all right now, so stop whatyour doing and lay your hands on the radio and let the vibes flow through. The funk not only moves it Re-Moves, Dig! Thanks! Bootsy!!!

Funk ALERT, Funk ALERT! I just got off the phone with our Capitain of the Mothership, I must say that your love vibes and prayer's are workin'. Our Capitain is a Warrior, and want to take it straight to the people from where it came and some parts of the system don't like how the funk endures. Funkateers together we stand, devided we fail! Medi-Really-Don't-Care, so we have too. Hold him up yall! Bootsy!!!

Get well soon, Uncle George. pray

Oh brother! We just lost Garry Shider a year ago next month, and Belita Woods was just recently hospitalized for heart issues. P-Funk is falling apart at the seams! Needless to say; I guess this Tuesday's show at BB Kings in Times Square is cancelled since it's only 3 days away. Can't see how The Mothership would fly without it's pilot.

This is why I've been attending every show that I possibly could over recent years (I've been averaging about 2 or 3 shows a year). Most recently saw them in December 2010. All the original Funk Mob are getting up there in years, and obviously won't be around forever. I don't even care about the concert, I just hope George and Belita fully recover... soon!

George turns 70 on July 22. neutral

I'm learning that he apparently went in for a routine check up and they kept him to treat an infection. They're saying he'll be fine, and are asking people not to worry. I'm also hearing that Tuesday's NYC show has been postponed.

Considering the alternative, no. It's just that I have issues with people growing older and passing away. Particularly those I care about.

It amazes me that some people die young from their vices and others can smoke crack in public and still keep on ticking in their 70s...Life is indeed like a box of chocolates. lol

Screw the mental part of it. I'm wondering how someone's body doesn't give up after the years of abuse. I have a friend who stopped partying in her early thirties only to die in her fourties from a stroke. Then there are people who continue (like Clinton) and they keep on ticking. He is one lucky kat. cool

Glad he's doing ok. Once I read "gout" issues I knew that a little surgery and treatment would make things better.
