That's Freddie standing in the back row with the red shirt. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Bangin'! I was shocked to learn that there was an eponymous Mystic Merlin album in '80 that came out before "Sixty Thrills A Minute" and "Full Moon." Freddie had it goin' on for a long while back then as far as the "hits" went. Amazing what the right producer and the right management can do for one. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

I just lovvvve how all the posts so far on a Freddie Jackson thread have been about when he was with Mystic Merlin.
He should have stayed in the group because they had good music. As for Freddie solo, his shit was as dull as Shitney. . . . [Edited 5/26/11 17:24pm] Andy is a four letter word.

Not really. I liked some of his stuff but he was just a mini-Lutha.

That's pretty much how I feel ... I could take him or leave him. Most times I left.
i'm still in a silly mood.

Now THIS is what he should have done more of. This was an absolute JAM but just look what he ended up doing later. Another Lionel Richie story.
