Was Jermaine Stewart ever that big of a star? I know he had that one monster hit, "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off", but was he a bonafide major star? And did he and Jody Watley ever patch up their differences? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

No, he was not that big of a star. He hd about three "hits": "The Word Is Out" "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes off" and my favorite out of the bunch; "Everybody Wants A Piece Of Jody"

1. Jermaine was never a major star. He was only a r&b/dance cult classic.
2. Jody confirmed on her YouTube channel that her & Jermaine were always friends before he died.

He's dead? What happened to him? I only know that one song We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off. Great pop song. Didn't care for his voice much. I believe he also appeared on an episode of Miami Vice where he was performing at a prison! The inmates were booing him. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer.

Um, I have a hard time believing inmates would boo Jermaine Stewart-I mean, I would think he would be um, popular. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I believe he also did background vocals for Culture Club early on. And if U look at the album credits to "Get Ready" (which had tracks produced by Andre Cymone) he name drops Rob Lowe and a slew of other celebrities. I think he thought he was a big star!! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Come on now...lets not paint all the incarcerated folk with one rainbow brush. some of them were probably expecting Johnny Cash or at least Bette Midler. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Overhere his only 2 hits were "Say it again" and "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes off". IMO he was cool even though he sucked when I saw him "live" at a club for a New Year's performance many years ago. With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I would think having a bonafide hit like that would make U a major star wouldn't it?????????????

No, he wasn't a big star at all. He had one hit pop song that people may or may not remember.

No that makes you a one-hit wonder as far as the mainstream is concerned.

His biggest hit was "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off" but his earlier jam "The Word Is Out" from 1984 is the best jam he ever made. Andy is a four letter word.

People like that would boo him in public and fuck him in private. Andy is a four letter word.

Yep. And in the early 1990s he told a reporter from "Sister 2 Sister" magazine, who later told Geraldo, that he and Magic Johnson had previously been sleeping together. Andy is a four letter word.

I always thought that was his other hit, although not as big as "Clothes".
but very true. That answers the question, right?
