En Vogue planning to release new album

Feb 18, 2011
Hi everyone! Just wanted to drop a note to let you know that we are working on a new album to release this year! Stay tuned!
You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I kinda hope they're not working with Foster & McElroy. Even Maxine said once they were tired and played out. lol But at the same time, I hope they're not working with a "producer of the month" either. razz

Is Dawn recording too? I heard that trouble making biotch said she's touring with them but won't record for legal reasons.

lol

I thought sure that they were gonna perform on Way Black When on 90's week.

Terry Ellis was one of the background singers during 80's week.

Dawn has always created problems for them lol I'm surprised that they are able to forgive her.

I can understand your skeptism.Old School artists always have a hard time getting new music released.Last year,Roberta Flack and Stephanie Mills both announced new albums.Neither album has been released yet.

Unnecessary

if they stick to their old new jack sound, the album will be dated as hell

if they embrace shit/hop-shit-dance... oh then, well... doody ill barf

Ol' Skool Records what about it Soul? I got fifty dollars, you'll have to come up with the rest so we can start our new label. lol

Seriously.

Does Mills or Flack have record deal? If not it's time for someone to consider something along the lines of a Cooperative Music Label', where artist of all genres can invest, create, and sell their music.

I thought KOCH Records (or maybe Malaco for soul & blues acts) were for veteran performers. But KOCH doesn't have much of a distribution system though.

That aside -

Are all of the original members coming back?

Even so I'm thinking this might be a bad idea. These band/group reunions always suck, by either not having all the original members; or they release bad music....

En Vogue is one of my all-time favourite groups, but I have to say that Dawn's voice gave En Vogue some edge so I was sorry to hear that she would not be recording with them when they announced that last year.

I don't think they have record deals.I think they were planning to go the independent route.Stephanie even posted a video on Youtube.....it's a remake of the Beatles' "Yesterday" which she dedicates to her old friend Michael Jackson.Roberta's album is a Beatles cover album.

Why is En Vogue signed to Rufftown Records? From what I can gather, the only thing Rufftown has released is a CD of Adam Lambert demos. THEY ARE EN-MOTHAPHUCKING-VOGUE!!! Damn, is that the best they could do? Don't nobody want them? Why is Geffen not knocking on their door? disbelief I see why Dawn didn't sign up to record with them. And I agree with mrjun, nothing is gonna come out.

Well, their Christmas album came out on Discretion, whatever that is, and Soulflower was on Beat Exchange. I've never heard of that either.

There's a Christmas album?!?! faint These girls need to stop releasing stuff as "En Vogue" if all four original members are not participating in the project. They are embarrassing themselves and cheapening their market value.

Never stopped The Temptations (or the Rolling Stones, Journey, The Supremes, Van Halen, Wings, Genesis, Yes, Destiny's Child, etc.) lol En Vogue only had two other members. One was Amanda Cole (who didn't last long and was only on the Christmas album) and the other is an on/off member Rhona Bennett (who was only on Soulflower) because Maxine had left the group for awhile.
