It's sad that this is the best performance so far. But it is. Congrats Bruno. I guess.

I love that song by Muse. Now that's rock music.

True that. They were awesome. I've never been that big a fan or followed them, but I was impressed.

I was thinking about that too. Is the Academy playing some kinda race card?

Not really, R&B sucked this year, so they relegated the awards off air. When OutKast was nominated for Album and Record of the Year a few years back, they had a lot of hip-hop and R&B awards on the main telecast.

typing

It's just a joke! lol

Yeah I agree, R&B and hip-hop was pretty much in a bad state last year and it'll probably be the same this year. The Academy really cares about the big awards and what will be good for broadcast. Plus, there was alot of other great stuff in the R&B field that was snubbed and overlooked anyway.

well B.O.B, Bruno Mars, and Janelle are okay.....nothing earth shattering, but not embarrassing.

Please tell me there is no Lil Wayne coonery and buffoonery this year.....disbelief

Bruno Mars is singing off key.

Oh God, Janelle as well.

Yikes.

All of these people are awful. I turned this on to see Aretha, and left it on because the tribute was good, but no more.

Why does watching that Janelle child always make me feel like either she's about to have a seizure or I am? confused

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Janelle's performance was the best hands down, even though she was shaky in parts too! Love her!

Bruno...? disbelief Off key and unoriginal. Anybody noticed the "Who's Loving You" and MJ nods he was giving?

Overall, these award shows just get stale as the years go by. I've seen enough! *turns the channel*

Janelle and Bruno were awful. Sounded like a dying herd of sheep.

Gaga showed great showmanship singing live and dancing but it was pretty boring compared to her other theatrics.

Actually Rihanna has always sung live and has a better voice than people give her credit for. Just tired of seeing her every year performing (well except for that one time....)

Ever since the whole Milli Vanilli fiasco, the Grammys try to get everyone performing on the telecast to sing live. However, a few acts have gotten around this (cough..cough..Britney Spears...cough) by performing elaborate dance numbers and using backing tracks.

No, she hasn't...she played a festival a couple of years ago - when I worked there. Straight up 100% recorded vocals.

But I don't think her voice is all that bad.
