KYLIE Minogue is expected to announce her Aussie tour any day, with dates expected to be in June and July.

Minogue embarks on her Aphrodite-Les Folies Tour today in Herning, Denmark.

So far, 50-plus dates have been announced for the tour -- from Lithuania, Switzerland, Germany and Ireland to the US and Mexico.

Greek goddess: Kylie Minogue is a vision in white as she kicks off her Aphrodite: Les Folies world tour in Denmark

By Daily Mail Reporter

She's been churning out hits for over 20 years.

But Kylie Minogue showed she can still put on as good as show as ever as she kicked off her Aphrodite: Les Folies world tour in Denmark tonight.

The 42-year-old singer embraced Greek mythology as her theme as she performed her newest singles and her classic hits from across the years to a sell-out crowd in the central Danish city of Herning.

Just like Aphrodite was depicted perched on a shell in Sandro Botticelli's iconic painting The Birth Of Venus, so was Kylie was she emerged from a golden shell on stage at the Jyske Bank Boxen arena.

Gold and white dominated the stage, with Kylie wearing several outfits inspired by Greek mythology.

One outfit saw Kylie looking like a winged messenger with feathers over her ears, a white corseted 'mullet' dress and knee-high gladiator sandals.

She was joined on stage by her large troupe of dancers, including some scantily-clad hunky males to lift the pint-sized pop star in the air.

Writing on her Twitter after her first show, she gushed: 'It was fantastic amaZing incredible I am overwhelmed.'

Aphrodite: Les Folies will take in 36 concerts across Europe - including 14 overall in the UK and a five-night stint at London's O2 Arena in April.

In April she will move on to Asia, before performing 17 gigs in North America, ending at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in May.

She is also expected to announce the Australian leg of the tour any day now.

Aphrodite: Les Folies is her first world tour since KylieX2008 three years ago.

Italian designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana announced last year they would be creating her flamboyant tour wardrobe.

Hard work: The grueling tour will take in 21 countries over three months, and is expected to be expanded in Australia as well

They said: 'Kylie has always been our Piccola Principessa (Little Princess), not just because of our work together but more so because of our friendship! Working with Kylie has always been very spontaneous and easy.

'We are given free reign [sic] to create because she trusts that we know exactly what she likes.

'This will be our third tour with Kylie and this time we have revisited iconic Dolce & Gabbana pieces, adapting them to different themes of the tour. This show definitely cannot be missed.'

It looks like her most elaborate and expensive show yet, I'm liking that. Some numbers seem to be rehashed, "Cupid Boy" or "Better the Devil You Know" are like copypasted from Showgirl. Stuff like "Illusion" or "Slow" are fantastic though! A lot of fans were into the X show but I thought it had some cringe-worthy random segments like the Geisha one, good thing this tour is nothing like that.

KYLIE Minogue will tour Australia in June with a mammoth production valued at $25 million.

sMinogue plays Rod Laver Arena on June 14 and 15, with tickets on sale March 15 through Ticketek.

Minogue's Greek mythology-themed Aphrodite Les Folies tour is her most elaborate to date with water fountains, flying angels and a purpose-built stage that cost $10 million alone.

``People still want something that's entertaining to take them away and this show certainly will,'' Minogue said.

Promoter Michael Gudinski said Minogue will bring her full production currently on tour in Europe to all Australian shows.

``Kylie was totally insistent she wouldn't compromise the show and will be bringing every piece of that show to her fans in Australia,'' Gudinski said.

``It is costing an absolute fortune to bring it here, there's something like 26 semi trailers transporting it around. She is doing the almost impossible and taking a show with the production values of something like Cirque de Soliel, which stays in the same venue for months, but she's doing it as a travelling show.''

The concerts feature a VIP section, the Splash Zone, with around 300 up close and personal tickets priced at $400, also including a merchandise pack.

``We give them a backpack with a towel and a poncho,'' Minogue said. ``They want to get wet. Go figure.''

All other tickets will be priced from around $98 to $150.

Unlike previous tours, the breast cancer survivor plays the two hour concert without an interval and has broken her rule of only two shows in a row.

Minogue celebrated her five-year all year from cancer this week.

It's back to normal but like everything it's the new normal,'' she said. ``I'm not doing three shows in a row and I'm like a performing twig; I'm doing three shows in a row with all that experience I've gone through personally and professionally and it just feels like the right time to do it.''

Gudinski and Minogue turned down a deal that would have seen presale tickets only available for purchase with one particular credit card company.

Instead presale tickets will be available from midday March 10 on frontiertouring.com

Hotly tipped Melbourne band Gypsy and the Cat were personally chosen by Minogue to be her opening act.

All shows will be all ages, however the Splash Zone is open to people over 16 only for safety reasons.

KYLIE’S APHRODITE LES FOLIES BY NUMBERS

$25 million – the cost of the entire production

$10 million – the cost of the stage alone

$750,000 – the cost of props used in the show

1 million – the watts used to power the show

25,000 – the amount of litres of recycled water used in the show

200 – the number of costumes with one million diamante crystals and 1000 feathers

100 – the number of crew members on the road

10 – the number of dancers

8 – the number of aerialists

6 – the number of band members

Wow! Never realized that she's 42 yrs. old. I respect her game. Honestly, I never would have thought she would have been around this long. She was smart to focus on the Euro market. I'm sure she's done quite well for herself.

Are all of her shows this elaborate? Seems like a real spectacle. She seems to always come with something different. I'm sure a good many American acts steal ideas from her shows. Like all artist do, one way or another.

Go Kylie!

Go Kylie!

this is her most expensive and elaborate staging to date. Since 2001's On A Night Like This Tour she's been trying to bigger show than she did the time before. Beyonce, Britney, Madonna and Lady Gaga have all recently done something that Kylie has done in a previous show.

falloff Not really, her previous shows barely had a theme and concept, especially Showgirl. Don't know about Gaga but Kylie heavily borrowed from the Blond Ambition Tour in 2002 and the Geisha thing from Madonna in 2008. Madonna covering "I Feel Love" is hardly in the same league. Same for Britney, I assume you meant the cabaret version of "Baby One More Time", I know that's kinda a Kylie trademark to reinvent at least one song on almost every tour like that, but that still doesn't have to do much with the staging and the concept.

Showgirl had atrocious stuff like this, nothing to be proud of and definitely not something that would make other artists copy her:

EDIT: I just remembered "Vogue" on Showgirl Homecoming and Sticky & Sweet, the connection is obvious but that was more like a mutual nod and not a testament to Kylie's shows leading the pack.

Clearly they are all pop artists which means they will all reference the same things at the same point. so let's not try to make this a diva battle but yes Kylie has been leading the pack since 98

Beyonce copied the robot, however Kylie doing the robot was a direct reference to "Express Yourself" on BAT where Madonna also embodied the Man-Machine.

Like I said covering "I Feel Love" has nothing to do with live performance concept, Stuart and Mirwais are both Moroder-children and it was basically a given that Madonna would include a bit of IFL in "Future Lovers" when she sang it on tour.

The "showgirl" thing of the Re-Invention Tour had nothing to do with Kylie, the costume designer admitted that show was based on Madonna's past looks and that one was the "Dick Tracy" thing she had already done on BAT.

Same goes for the Keith Haring tribute, that segment on Sticky & Sweet was about Madonna's early days and all 5 songs were basically metaphors of her career (mostly how she started out), I don't see why Madonna would have needed Kylie to do that, a lot of Hard Candy was about "going back to the roots" as well.

I can give you the Geisha thing, but it doesn't make sense that Kylie waited a decade to do that on tour while Madonna did it on the nearest possible show (without actually doing "Nothing Really Matters").

The "I Believe In You" performance seems to be inspired by "Piece Of Me" on the Circus Tour.

So I don't see how anyone can say "Kylie has been leading the pack" when she's not only been using the same creative director all along, her tours have limited audience outside the UK compared to the ladies who supposed to be copying her. Plus the Fever Tour was infamous for its Blond Ambition references.

And to stress it, I'm not saying the other ladies are "more original" or they are leading the pack but you're definitely giving too much credit to Kylie and assume her audience is that widespread. Madonna did admit to costumes of the latest version of "Vogue" as a double-nod but that's really more about the fact that Madonna or Jamie King have no clue how to reinvent "Vogue" at this point (since the RIT was a VMA '90 retread, it's safe to say they were desperate), I'll go out on a limb and say Madonna would have copied anyone's interpretation of "Vogue".

One thing that's different between those videos is that Kylie singing live actually sounds good. Madonna wailing over some pre-recorded autotune sounds horrendous.

Umm... i think you forget that it's not references of Blonde Ambition. William Baker and Minnie have stated that the Silvernemsis section of KylieFever was inspired by Metroplolis, Dr Who's Cybermen and Star Trek's Borg. It's about references and I don't think Kylie is referencing Madonna as much as they both reference the same work one might do it one before the other or see the other do it and go hey i like that idea... IE the jump roping in Cowboy Style and Into the Groove and both have stated a mutual affinity for each others work.

also being the leader doesn't mean you have the biggest fanbase just that someone follows you

i'm not interested in a diva off... i present the videos for others to make their own conclusion.
