Harlepolis

Rhapsody In Blue

The earliest memory of a musical piece I could remember, and one of the fondest too. I've heard it a million times(like the rest of the world) but everytime I listen to it, even the small details sound so beautiful.

The original~By the Paul Whiteman orchestra.

I think I'd sale my soul to the devil if I could get DVD of Liberace playing "Rhapsody In Blue" on 'The Tonight Show, starring Johnny Carson'. His performance was sublime.

Couldn't find it, but I found this from a Vegas show.

I've always thought there was something with substance there behind all the flamboyant exterior nod

I cannot believe that a person who's partial to pianists like myself doesn't own anything from him. Got any tips?

V10LETBLUES

I know exactly what you mean, this song is transcending!

I love Gershwin, and a lot of the music from the 20's 30's and 40's too.
