yeah i just think there is this OBSESSION with hyping things, and thats not new, its been going on for well over a decade. Its like Tavis Smiley said to Prince, media and artists now are selling you events that turn out to be non-events. Thats why everything is a letdown, to me, put your work out and then talk about it.

This is why i stopped listening to Prince when he would promise things, with HIM however it was different because he has no attention span, he will talk about re-doing all his old albums one minute then come out with a jazz record 5 minutes later, so he is almost telling us what he WANTS to do or gives hints, not dates! But thing is Prince puts out tons of music so you lose track of all the things he talks about, when an artist does one cd a decade, promises get annoying and you feel used

Right. Least Prince has other plans if he decides on it. I think that's always a part of his personality anyway. Least he still releases music. So in a way I can deal with his promises because at least he's not lazingly resting on his laurels.

Did she even CONFIRMED it was coming out , sometimes these articles be saying anything. I’m not checking for her though I only heard about it here I didn’t see this on other sites.

Prince is always going to do this, although he has slowed down on the "talk" points, he still puts something out pretty much every year, whether people dig it or not, and to me "Liking" it, is not what its about, cause i see Prince threads on "liking" and its so varied from person to person, thats why i just think he puts stuff out and if you like it cool if not, see you next time maybe. I mean i know that "delays" happen, i mean i worked in that biz and had to make "delay" excuses for people coming for the new so and so record, i mean i can remember Stevie's "time2love" and those push back issues, oh my god, i had to make so many excuses for that delay

I get real frustrated whenever Stevie makes an announcement and doesn't follow through. I mean if Marvin had done this, I'd understand his situation - him wanting to hit the charts but still present an artistic side, but it seems with Stevie, other things become distractions, plus the man still got two underage kids to look after (I believe his four other children are grown now) and is in his longest marriage. It seems like with Prince, he keeps on being busy while Stevie is resting on being a "legacy artist", least that's what it seems like.

Oh well, I'm not surprised (nor disappointed). The only reason they're trying to come out is to fight anyway. If they had music to put it out it should have been out regardless of what Nicki or the next chick is doing. Like Hammer coming out to to respond to Jay after all these years. Really?
