Usher: "I Feel Pressure To Be The New Michael"

[img:$uid]http://i54.tinypic.com/wly5nk.jpg[/img:$uid]

December 2010

Usher has revealed that he feels under pressure to become the new Michael Jackson.

The singer who signed his first record deal at age 13, said that despite being "emotionally" torn apart he enjoys being compared to the late singer.

"You know, we lost Michael Jackson. A lot of pressure is on me and I don't mind taking it," he told the Daily Star.

"I wanted to make sure that you get that type of experience that leaves you saying, 'OMG'. The impression that I would like to leave is that this guy is really stepping it up to a level where people can hopefully compare me to people like Michael Jackson. I basically tear myself apart emotionally, energetically, connecting with you and making sure that you enjoy this moment."

The R&B superstar recently confessed that he cried over protégé Justin Bieber's American Music Award wins.

He wants to be a beer taster?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Usher, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Omarion, etc. all need to stop the bullshit!

They all worshipped at MJ's dick when he was alive and knew they could never be him.

When he died they all acted accordingly (tears, speeches, tributes) but they secretly lusted for that opening spot.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

The pressure Usher is feeling to be the new Michael must be coming from within. Because no one that loved Michael is looking for him to be replaced, and anyone who hated Michael is not looking for a NEW one, lol.

I think perhaps Usher may be just a tad bit full of himself, lol.

Yes-you may wanna say I want the longevity or appreciation that so and so gets but this type of comment " I wanna be MJ etc" is just noonsense or maybe that there is nothing new under the sun

It's a shame that so many of today's artists are nothing more than lame copycats.Instead of trying to be "the next Michael Jackson",why doesn't Usher aim to be a unique,one-of-a-kind performer with his own fresh ideas? rolleyes Legendary artists cannot be duplicated. There will never be another Michael Jackson.

So THAT'S why he's "mentoring" a young girly boy... :hmm2:

Usher just needs to be Usher....ain't no pressure. He actually has more than enough talent and has been in the industry for a long time on his own worth that he should squash this bullshit. So should Neyo and Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake. Be yourself!
