they havent figured out that therapy is the answer, not shoving their issues on everybody else's table, like the world is supposed to accomodate their outright lack of self-esteem and pay attention to all their loud talking bravado.

its so played out it makes me yawn. poor, poor little effers. heart

This...sounds like many on the org...and in life generally.

Wait a sec. He didn't actually say that she should have had his back. He said that the Bush situation and the Swift situation was handled in the same way. He was saying that he rode it as much as she did. Right or wrong, that's what was done.

He has some valid points but he simply can not articulate his points without coming off as an asshole.

yeahthat

I'm kinda sick of this whole boo-hoo poor little blonde girl schtick now anyway, the only reason everyone got so riled up was because it was Miss Apple Pie -All American girl. If it was anyone else, it wouldnt have been AS huge a deal, as everyone probably knows. rolleyes

Besides, he can say whatever the f*** he wants to, it's his career either way. And obviously he didnt't want to apologize for the Bush thing and he shouldnt have to. It's all about politics, like someone said. Which is bad news for Kanye cuz he sure ain't built for politics with that ego and big mouth of his.

He is the biggest asshole in music. He acts like "its me against the world". I don't like him, he is talented but I won't buy any of his music because he is such a big turn off.

Oh boo-hoo. Like Taylor Swift has come out on top sice the incident.

His point was that its all a media game. It is. He told the truth. Its bigger than him and bigger than Taylor Swift's non-singing ass.

bingo g-money

folks and the media are not actually listening/understanding the context as the media is just putting out that sound bite to do another "Kanye goes off again" news story

meanwhile...north Korea

He has no clue what he is talking about, Taylor is irrelevant and so is he , he is a PRODUCT as she is a corporate fool, straight out, i dont care how FREE he thinks he is, a label is bankrolling him and pushing him, without them he would be footing the bill for everything, and not have the media hold he has. As far as the comment, she outsells him 10 to 1 worldwide, and always has, and why defend him, he was the dick acting like a dick, what was she supposed to say, "dont bash kanye, he had no clue he was being an asshole" you do what u do and live with the consequences, if youre a man like u say you are. I mean this is a guy who thinks he sold out "wembley stadium" he forgot to mention that u2 was headling, get real dude, u couldnt sell out the parking lot at Wembley stadium on your own, if he even thinks he is on a musical iconic level of say U2 he seriously needs help.

Yes Prince has a big head but I don't remember him opening his gob to say ridiculous or hurtful stupid comments.

I enjoyed listening to this rant just like I enjoy listening to most of his music. It's not even about him making sense or me agreeing with him--it's the sheer intensity behind his words that sucks me in. He has such a need and passion to express himself. I find him fascinating even though I know he's a self-absorbed anus.

I do think mentioning Taylor again was unwise but saying dumb stuff is bound to happen when you talk as much as he does. It comes with the territory. Actually, I am kinda surprised that as outspoken as he is, he hasn't just blurted out: "The only reason people tripped was because of the symbolism of a Black man appearing to 'violate' an 'innocent' White woman." I was sure that he'd touch on this by now....

I'm going to leave the Bush stuff completely alone, as I find the topic nauseating.

In the midst of the outrage over someone breaking from script at a fucking awards show, people failed to realize the truth of the matter. Which is that Kanye was right. Taylor Swift didn't deserve that award. Beyonce's video was fucking brilliant. There have been so many bullshit choices made by these award shows. It's about time someone actually acknowledged it. And live on stage as it happened too. I wish more people would tell the truth and say what they actually fucking mean like Kanye did.

The thing is, MTV VMA committee members never use the votes on YouTube as the deciding factor to which artist win in each of the catagories. MTV used their own voting polls that they send out to the voters (via phone, internet, whatever...) and use the results of those polls as the deciding factor.

The reason why Taylor won the 2009 MTV VMA for best video by a female artist is because Taylor's fanbase (especially white girls) remembered to cast in enough multiple votes to help Taylor wins over Beyonce and 3 other female artists.

Was Kanye correct in saying that something was very wrong with the process at the time? Oh hell yeah, because Beyonce's videos gets more than 5 times the number of votes on YouTube than any of Taylor's videos does. But ViaCON (the corporate media company that owns MTV) didn't and still doesn't give a rat's booty about using YouTube as the standard of voting polls.

Forgot to mention, although I didn't lose sleep over Taylor being "ambushed" by Kanye (I thought it was rude and said so but didn't lose sleep over it), I also didn't give feel bad that Beyonce lost to Taylor. I thought Taylor winning was hilarious, actually biggrin

I find it hilarious that folks are still caring that this happened at an awards show that I thought no one here cared about in 2009, yet here we are still bringing it up. lol

I know the same old song still plays in 2010 but really? lol

Both of them are milking this until the udders have run out of milk.

Just when I think I've had enough of Kanye here I am defending him. In 9 gorgeously messy minutes Kanye summed up all there needs to be said about his crazy year. Here are the talking points. 1) Kanye mentioned how the media as always zeroed in on a soundbite making it sound like Bush felt that Kanye was the lowest moment of his presidency. He actually said it was one of the lowest moments. 2) Kanye said he rode with the fact that he was calling Bush a racist just like Taylor rode with the fact that people were calling Kanye a racist. If no one is willing to come clean about a situation then why is the situation worth even becoming such a serious topic? (I didn't mean that or I know he didn't mean that but hey, whatever.) 3) Kanye hilariously stated that if he weren't drunk he would've ranted on that stage with Taylor even longer. And he might've been more clear in his meaning.(?) 4) Kanye, realizing that even when people are afforded the opportunity of hearing and seeing things right in front of their faces yet coming to whatever conclusion will get them the most upset anyway, he's gonna say what he damn well pleases!

This is exactly what he said...and yet...it was lost on most people who just pick and choose words - which is precisely what he said in point 4.

if Kanye had done this to Fantasia, there'd be no outrage against him and Matt Lauer is a pansy and a sell-out. That tis.is.all

My feeling is; if Fantasia had been in Taylors' place, Kanye would not have been inclined to make a scene. But of course that's just speculation, and in either case; there's no way of ever knowing.
