Nicki Minaj: “Lil Kim Will Go Down In History As A Sore Loser”

Nicki Minaj: “Lil Kim Will Go Down In History As A Sore Loser”

Fri, Nov 19 2010 by Necole Bitchie | Filed Under: Celebrities

Nicki Minaj loaded up and shot venom on Lil Kim earlier today in an interview with Angie Martinez.

“She just really jumped out of the window and you got to be careful when you pick fights. That’s what I learned in this business. You just never know. I think people get me mistaken with like a real Barbie, they forget where I’m from. If I have to revert back I can…. and I will. Don’t play with me. It’s one of those moments when you say “Don’t play with me”. I respect you and love you. I’ve said it in every interview, time and time again. And if that’s not good enough for you mama, then it’s something deep rooted in you. Something is bothering you inside, that’s your insecurity bothering you. It’s not Nicki Minaj, it’s any girl that’s popping. She picked a fight with Foxy, then she picked a fight with Eve, then it was Miss Wallace, now it’s Nicki Minaj. Every time you’re in the news, you are getting at somebody. Put your music out and when I see your name on Billboard that’s when I’ll respond to you. Other than that. Goodbye!”

Ouch! Hold on there’s more…

You know what scares people? Success. When you don’t make moves and you don’t climb up the latter, everybody loves you because you’re not competition. I feel like, you are going to go down in history now as a sore loser, as opposed to going down in history as the Queen.

We all take from each, there’s nothing new under the sun. When you see Gaga, you see Madonna, but Madonna never hated on Gaga. Why in the black community we have to hate on each other instead of saying “thank you for showing me love. Thank you for keeping my name alive”. The same way she opened doors for me, I am now opening doors for her. Because nobody was even playing your music and you damn sure couldn’t get an interview to save your life. But now, you’re getting interviews and every time you get an interview, they are asking you about Nicki Minaj. We are helping each other…but if you are bitter. Get a Life!

Leading into Nicki’s spiel on Lil Kim, she actually named her as one of the people who influenced her.

Listen below:

Or go over to HOT97.com to listen to the entire interview.

These girls need to get it together! What pisses me off the most is every other week, I hear a record with 5-6 hot male rappers on it (i.e Kanye’s Good Fridays, Swizz Beatz Monster Mondays) and all I can think is “why can’t the females get together and make ONE record together. NOT ONE DAMN record???? Too busy being Catty as hell and hating on the next bish that comes up. Just boils my damn blood.

As much as I don't like Nicki Minaj as a recording artist and rapper, she does make sense and seems to be very sincere about having the deepest respect for Lil Kim. Nicki sounds like a woman who is trying to gain a foothold in the marketplace with her music and isn't trying to emulate what's going on now, but that doesn't mask her deficiencies as a lyricist and serious artist. If I'm Lil Kim as much as she may not want to do it, she may have to be humble enough to let the matter drop and with time reach out to her to let bygones be bygones.

After leaving the Beyonce/live instruments thread...at least this woman has some brains and was spot on with her comments...

I'm not really into her as an artist but I've read some quotes of hers that shows that she has an understanding of the business...

And I see Angie Martinez is still looking good!!..I used to love me some Angie growing up...lol

Naw, f*** that! If any protégé OR clone is doing something dead wrong that is a total disrespect to his/her mentor, elder, OR the history AND traditions of rap itself, then that protégé OR clone need to get called out accordingly.

Watching Lil'Kim telling it like it is about Micki Minaj the first time is no more OR less controversial than Ice-T doing the same thing to Souljah Boy a while back.

Lil'Kim & Fox Brown picked on where Millie Jackson left, and you don't see Millie foaming in the mouth over those broads shrug I love Kim too, but the woman just can't stop burning bridges, she could've used this situation to her advantage and came out as the bigger person, but NOOOOOOO, her dumb short-sighted ass decided a verbal fight is better in order.

I'm no fan of Nicki Vagina, but the woman comes across VERY confident in her interviews,,,,something Kim lacks, unfortunately.

Of course Nicki is very confident. She is THE only female mainstream rap artist out there with no female rivals OR female allies within her generation at the moment. And there are plenty of female rappers within Nicki's age group that would shut her down in a battle rap. But sadly, none of them have mainstream-level record deals.

If you asked me, Kim got too comfortable. The one thing that you should NEVER do in life is get comfortable. It makes you lazy!! In comes, Nicki. Who by the way, shows the confidence and the swag that Kim once had, but somewhere along the way, lost. While, some might say that Nicki is not as talented as Kim, her confidence and swag, masked it. Her verses on tracks like, "Monster", shows that she can more than hold her own, against some of the dudes in the rap game. Nicki, is also not afraid to apprear on other people's tracks, which, in this day and age, is one of the smartest things to do. She is also humble, VERY important, when you are trying to get your footing in ANY game. Kim's management, dropped the ball. Upon her release from jail, they should have done anything and everything to place her back on the map, they didn't. Instead, they have booked her on a European tour, to do her old singles. So, you all can say what you want about Nicki's talent, but, if she keeps this momentum going, she is going to be around for a while ; while Kim, sits in a corner, eatin Cream Puffs.

I agree with shorttrini. Lil Kim got out of jail and no one has really heard anything from her since.

Everyone knows in the music business you either stay on top of your game or you get left behind

in the dust.

Nicki has picked up Lil Kim's vibe/image/swag etc but it's for a new generation of hip hop kids.

These kids today may hear and see Lil Kim as their "parents" hip hop. Nicki also being a protege

of Lil Wayne doesn't hurt either.

But I'm sure 10 years from now someone else will come along and take Nicki's spotlight.

As much as she irks me at times, I agree. She's been nothing but respectful to Kim up until Kim started talking shit about her to the public. It won't stop. Kim NEEDS this fued; Nicki doesn't. Like her or not, she's the hottest chick in the game right now.

And in 5 years or so maybe less there will be a Nicki clone and she will be bitching like Kim is. I mean come on now, people are talking about KIM like she is fucking Aretha Franklin, i dont know whats more insane, the Praise and props given to Lil Kim or the whole "light" on this feud. Kim had her time when she was hot and unique, but for what she is/was doing there was no shelf life, lets be real, everyone thought when 50cent came out he was gonna be the next 2pac and shit, and now his music is about as relevant as a new Hanson Cd. When you sell on nothing but image, and lets be real, that is what first gets on Nicki, and after she broke through, thats ALL lil kim was about, her sex appeal, and Nicki is right in that trap, she already has a full magazine out with nothing but sexy eye candy pics in it, how is that relevant in your music? Be a fucking model if thats the case. I listened to Nicki's cd and i can even tell you a standout or memorable song that will last beyond the next few months, and that doesnt mean she sucks ass or anything like that, im just saying i played your cd and you arent doing anything that cant be outdone a few months from now, and then its all about your image and look and that will get you right where Kim is now, forgotten.

So what im basically saying is, this feud and nonsense is good chatter for the internet zombies who need all soundbytes and will make a great Vibe magazine issue, because its all games, i say this, u say that, it gets all over the net, we twitter hate back and forth etc....and who cares. Nicki is competing against no one, just like Rihanna has no competition and Katy Perry has no competition etc...thats why no one is growing or doing anything new or remotely relevant beyond this month.

I hope you're very wrong on THAT^ first point. We do NOT want to see any Nicki-clones under any circumstances. For anything, we need a female rapper that would verbally "kill" Nicki in order to avoid a potential uprise of Nicki-clones.

but its nothing about her verbal skills, she can be copied because she is first and foremost an IMAGE just like GaGa is, and again this isnt saying anything on the talent side, i think someone like gaga has a form of talent, but that isnt even important at this point because its all Image Driven with a catchy song as "the backdrop" lets not forget that, alot of artists now the music is their "backdrop" thats why music is not relevant at least in this "mainstream" because its not in the forefront, its 50% image 45% media push and then maybe 5% the song/music. Nicki is selling a look and an image, her music blends all together and has no overall effect.

All you have to do is put "Nicki Minaj impersonation" in the search on youtube and you can see hundreds of chicks who can "do Nicki". She is mostly a character.

All she can do is milk it for what its worth until she plays out or the next "character" takes over her spot.

Both of them play characters in their careers. What's the point? Both of them are basically doing the same thing and are being pushed by their male mentors: Kim with the late BIG; Nicki with Lil' Predator, er, Wayne.

But yet she talked mad shit about Gwen Stefani stealing her image. I guess either she felt threatened by Gwen and not by the above ladies or she grew up at some point and stopped being vicious to other female artists. I still remember the nasty comments she made about Mariah, Whitney, and Janet back in the day so Madonna was a Lil Kim at one point. Lil Kim has always been insecure so I don't know why Nicki Minaj keeps addressing her at all. It really makes Nicki look more like the fool than Lil Kim to me because if someone said nasty things about me, I'd ignore them and keep on shining. Both of them need to grow up and squash this nonsense because it's not cute...not cute at all.
