The man does NOT waste his time!!! I loved his work with the White Stripes. I also loved his Loretta Lynn collaborations. I plan on getting his music soon. Not to mention I think he's quite attractive and a bit of a rebel too is intriguing to me. wink

I love EVERYTHING he has done in the last ten years.

Except that duet with Alicia Keys.

Most welcome. It's very possible that the White Stripes play unannounced (they're pretty tight with the guy and have played all his other shows a lot), but it could also be Jack doing any number of other things, including playing by himself. shrug I'm definitely watching. nod

By far one of the best current musicians around. I think I've enjoyed all his projects (with the exception of Karen Elson's stuff, just cause I have not listened to any of it yet). I even like the Alicia Keys duet...a little... boxed

If you will, so will I

yeahthat I have seen The White Stripes 5 times since 2003 and The Raconteurs once, and Jack is an incredible performer. He is one of my favorite guitar players and has a great voice. I know some people do not care for his guitar playing, but i dig the energy he conveys in his solos.

I saw them on the Elephant tour and at our show Meg was sick so she left the show a little early, but that did not stop Jack from commanding the stage alone for a few songs.

It was spectacular.

His work with "The Dead Weather" is his best i think. Although i am in love with Alison Mosshart, so any side project she touches i am all over it. Went to see them play in Edinburgh and it was fuckin incredible.

Seven Nation Army was even sung in European soccer stadiums at the world cup final 2006 and during the European Football Championship 2008 by soccer fans in the stadiums:

Dude, Jack White is the fucking sh!t & everything he touches. The dude is a phenomenon like Prince, both prolific & multi-instrumental artists. Not enough good can be said about Jack White. On a side note, Meg White gets sh!t on as a drummer but the fact remains that the b!tch stays on the beat & that's all that really matters in the end. I'm not saying that she's the best drummer or anything but it's not like she sucks, she's just real simple.

I think my favorite Jack White band is The Raconteurs but I love The White Stripes & Dead Weather too. As if you can't tell... I'm a huge fan, LOL!

That documentary he participated in, It Might Get Loud was bad ass minus The Edge, that guy was kinda lame imo on the documentaty.

BAM BAM CRASH CRASH WHINE WHINE

The only interesting thing about the White Stripes were the drummers tits, their music amounted to inane bashing, a mere retro-rock gimmick.

Mr White is your typical 'nothing to say' kinda musician.

And The Raconteurs are a terrible, terrible band.

Umm... Meg has never hit anything in her life hard enough to garner an all caps BAM BAM CRASH CRASH. lol And The Raconteurs are a terrible band? Umm, OK. thumbs up!

Aaaaanyway, Conan is about to start on the East Coast. excited

I love Meg and I love the White Stripes, but she kinda sucks. Simple is an understatement and she BARELY stays on time. But with Jack the whole thing - the simplicity, the sloppiness, her eyes being closed more than half the time - it just works for some weird reason. I'm hoping she's played a lot in the time off, though. lol

I was waiting for this. What would the org (or the internet) be without a bitter dissenting opinion? lol

Nothing bitter, I just hate everything about his precious little swaggering Keith Richards wannabee rock and roll bullshit, and the way he seems so conscious of his image. And his updated interpretations of classic blues rock are unforgivable.

I'm not so shallow as to allow something like that override my ability in judging musical value. Jewel's first album is terrific, almost elegant, with vocals to die for.......or was it the breasts??
