Where is Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis??

I'm listening to Janet's Rhythm Nation. It's been a long time since I played it all the way through.

These guys knew how to craft a great song....WTF happened? eek

And the catalog of songs, OMG!

Did they make too much money, are they no longer hungry? confused I knew you can't hold the genie in a bottle, but I hope they can come back and deliver just one more time.

Identity

I haven't read anything on what they're doing at present, but it's been confirmed that they provided production for a number of songs on El DeBarge's soon-to-be-released album.

Where is Jam & Lewis? Just what I was thinking myself, they single handedly crafted some of the best songs of the 80's and 90's then............nothing!!!

The last Jam & Lewis song that I heard was Luther Vandross' Shine.

Hurry back guys!

In their skin! razz

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Terry said not long ago, that The Time reunion album should be coming out soon. Jimmy Jam is on the Grammy Awards committee, so I guess he's doing that.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Where are they? That's what I've been saying to myself since their last great work which was Janet Jackson's "Rhythm Nation" album because that bullshit they were making in the 1990s and 2000s definately ain't the same Jimmy and Terry I listened to.

Still not a patch on their 80's triumphs though.

All For You (song)

The Best Things In Life Are Free

"A Cute, Sweet Love Addiction" by Johnny Gill

"Can I Get a Witness" by Ann Nesby

"Dance and Shout" by Shaggy

"Disrespectful" by Chaka Khan featuring Mary J. Blige

"Everything Is Gonna Be Alright" by Sounds of Blackness

"Gotta Get Yo' Groove On" by Tevin Campbell

"Happiness" by Vanessa L. Williams

"I Adore You" by Caron Wheeler

"I'm Good at Being Bad" by TLC

"Luv Me, Luv Me" by Shaggy

I wouldn't consider these AC. I will admit that their style did change in the 90s.

Eh is this the same committee that picks the winners for the Grammys? If so, he needs to be punched square right in his nose.

Jimmy's title is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees. I don't know what that position does. His being on the board was how he got The Time to appear on the show a couple of years ago, although they had to perform with Rihanna. I don't think that was the group's idea, lol. It's a usual thing for the Grammys to have a young popular act to perform with a veteran act.

Musicslave

I miss them too. I still got my fingers crossed for their new Time project and keeping hope alive that we'll see Jackson/Harris/Lewis again for her next joint. (Whenever that is)

Seems like their more recent work end up being album cuts, and not singles. I think the last single I remember from them was for Chaka Khan. Like others said earlier, they provided Usher some nice tracks for his last joint. No singles though.

Hell, I'm sure they're in a place where they don't have to chase artists down for song placement anymore. They were always selective about who they worked with anyway. They probably got SOS money that they haven't spent yet. (Especially considering sampling) cool
