Em...that's dancing. You take a little from here, a little from there, you add something of your own and voila! Hopefully you will have created something great.

And you do know that there are certain steps that are standards, whatever style you dance. That has nothing to do with lack of creativity or whatever.

yes, anyone who thinks that there is any artist who was not borrowing & stealing from other artists is fooling themselves

But it was interesting to see the Bob Fosse video. He doesn't dance like MJ exactly, but there are undeniable connections

Oh sure, it's pretty undeniable that MJ and his choreographers were highly influenced by Fosse!

What dancer isn't? I am practicing some Fosse style choregraphy myself at the moment smile

Yes, the Nicholas Brothers were undeniably a big influence in MJ's dance styles, as well as other dancers around the Nicholas brothers' days.

Their dancing styles and talent was amazing. This is my favorite video of them:

Then you have the Berry Brothers:

There were many great male dancers from all walks of life between the 1920s through late 70s, including women. I do remember my sister who loved and did modern/jazz dance, taking me to see one of Bob Fosse's plays on Broadway, back in the 80s, when he had this tall female dancer as the lead. Can't remember her name though..

Unbelievable.

I will say it, MJ is the most overrated entertainer of all time and paved the way for the commercial act.

Bob should seriously be given his due....but they like to portray the commercial act today as unique talent to deceive and dumb down.

Don't be ridiculous, go and do a little research before spouting rubbish. Bob Fosse was very well known, he was an oscar winning director and also won a shedload of awards for his choreography. If that's not being 'given his due' then I don't know what the fuck is.

Don't confuse you never having heard of him with him not being well known and bestowed with deserved accolades for his achievements.

As for the MJ comment, well it doesn't really deserve a response, so I won't.

oh snap!
