Janet's career so non existant these days. She seems to not really care anymore.

She was so determined back in the 80s and 90s with her management at that time.

I think she's at the point in her career where Prince was from about 2000 - 2004. It seems that she is doing a few one-off performances to keep her name out there and make some quick cash to stay afloat.

Maybe in about 4 or 5 years, she will try to re-charge her career. I don't know...I'm just guessing.

I think she should just stick to acting right now , if she still makes music I will still go out and buy her album.

All I have to say to this: I'm so happy I got the chance to see Janet live in her prime (Rhythm Nation, janet and The Velvet Rope tours) when she left me speechless with her charisma and performances.

I admire her a great deal but this video really disappoints me. She looks so tired and out of it. Before anyone gets on me, I understand she's moving constantly for 2hrs straight but there's always room for improvement. Janet can easily tweek her shows to fit her comfort. If she can't do the Rhythm Nation choregraphy then there's no point in doing it at all. It only draws comparisons to her past performances of the song. Why doesn't she get a choregrapher that can give her proper and not so intricate choregraphy? It will make her shows/performances easier to watch.

At this point, I don't care if she doesn't dance. I'd rather see her walk around on stage in a pair of heels instead.

Janet is lazy now- that's what the difference is.

Ever since she surrounded herself with JD- he's wrecked her career.

If only Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were still involved in her career. It might have been better.

Wow, someone who's criticizing Janet's career is considered a troll lol

Let's reword it in a different way- she's very laidback about her career these days, how's that wink

Janet used to be very dedicated to her music career before. Damita Jo and 20 Y.O leave a lot to be desired for.

The Velvet Rope, Janet, Rhythm Nation, Control, and All 4 You were great albums.

Yes and of course, she's "laidback" about her career now because of her previous efforts not doing that well. She is still dedicated to what she does. Just because you think her 2 of her albums were lackluster doesn't mean she's lazy. She's just focusing on her acting now and other avenues she's gonna get into. So there's no need to criticize her carer just because she's not getting #1's and such. She's a legend.

The performances are good though tiring looking, but I've also seen her live many times including rock with u and she amazed me at all times, though when I saw RN and janet online, I was in awe cause I didn't see those tours live like the others.

I'm glad she's focusing on movies though I'm ready for an album anytime as well smile I think she's at the perfect age for doing movies and still has the looks, and she's been talking about doing them for over 12 years now, so it's good timing.

Janet is 44 years old. Unless anyone can list any 40+ females that can dance this well, or a female artist that can perform 30+ songs for 2 hrs and dance constantly through out....That's right. Janet is the only one.

She still leaves me in awe all the time. My only issue is that she doesn't re-invent her shows/performances. They're always performed the same way.

I agree that she still kicks ass, I will continue to go see her as long as she is active though it's going to be very emotional for me this time with michael being gone, cause she and michael are my two favourites of all time

beautiful picture, I have never seen this, though I remember her posing with p diddy from the same night and had it from a magazine. Is it true the jacksons are cousins with stevie? I swear janet said that in an interview one time.

I've never heard that. Stevie never mentioned it on his radio show (when he was doing it). He used to always say that the Jackson family were old friends.

Janet referred to Stevie as her cousin (jokingly) when she was presenting him with a NAACP award in '08.

A&M/UMe Gathers Eleven Number One Hits of Superstar Janet Jackson Plus Her Recent iTunes Chart Topper, 'Nothing'

Janet Jackson, who with 34 Number One records, is one of the most successful and influential female artists in pop music history, will have a new "solid gold" collection of greatest hits for release on August 31, her first ever compilation of Number One songs. Janet Jackson – Number Ones - Icon (A&M/UMe), brings together 11 of the superstar's #1 hits -- 10 of them gold or platinum -- and the newly released "Nothing" from the film Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?, which stars Janet. One of the biggest-selling recording artists in the world, the ASCAP and Grammy winner's previous compilation albums and CDs have been giant hits, her 1995 double platinum Design Of A Decade 1986/1996 and last year's #1's.

"Nothing," which she composed, was recently cited by the trade paper Variety as one of two motion pictures songs of 2010 to date considered to be strongly in the running for Oscar nomination. Jackson previously was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song "Again" (from the film "Poetic Justice") and also for the Golden Globe.

Janet Jackson – Number Ones - Icon spans more than 20 years, from 1986's gold "What Have You Done For Me Lately" spun off from her blockbuster breakthrough Control to 2009's "Make Me," a song which Jackson debuted that year in tribute to her brother Michael at the MTV Video Music Awards and which quickly shot to #1 on the Dance chart.

Also heard from Control are the gold hits "Nasty" (#1 R&B/#3 Pop) and "When I Think Of You" (#1 Pop/#1 Dance). 1989's Rhythm Nation 1814 yielded the platinum Pop #1s "Miss You Much" and "Escapade," and gold Dance #1 "Alright." From 1993's janet., Janet Jackson – Number Ones - Icon culls the platinum Pop #1 "That's The Way Love Goes." In 1997, The Velvet Rope included the platinum #1 Pop "Together Again." The title track of 2000's All For You and the album's "Doesn't Really Matter" were two more platinum #1 Pop smash hits.

Continuing her acting career, Jackson reprised her starring role in 2007's Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married? for the 2010 sequel. She also recorded "Nothing" for the soundtrack. On this year's season finale of "American Idol," she performed a medley including "Nothing" -- and the clip rocketed to #1 on the iTunes music video chart.

Janet Jackson – Number Ones - Icon is part of the new Icon series of albums from Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) featuring the greatest hits, signature tunes and fan favorites of the most popular artists in music history.

This compilation was in the works a while back. I don't know what the big deal is. Universal released a group of "Icon" compilations from different artists (Erykah Badu, Janet, The Supremes, The Temps, etc.). Janet just happens to be apart of these this time.

OMG falloff

It will be a hoot if she actually gets nominated for this song and wins. Leave it to the Queen to get a Tyler movie buzz.

I hope she gets a nomination. With the track record for Oscar winning songs, this song fits the bill. I know I had never heard that Melissa Etheridge song before the Oscar show.

That's Lionsgate wishfully thinking that it might get some Oscar consideration. I think at best, Whoopi or Felicia Rashad might be part of derby race. Doubtful but still possible. Being that Tyler Jermaine Stewart Perry is Lionsgate's cash cow, they are doing this to keep him happy.

I think you're giving someone too much credit.

He's not the first thing that springs to mind when i think about 'Lionsgate' at all.
