Cole said "Ithaca" is closer to her earlier albums than to 2007's jazz-flavored "Courage"; in fact, she referred to it as "my return after a 10-year hiatus" from the more pop-oriented fare that marked 1999's "Amen" and its predecessor. "It's back to the Paula Cole people probably remember from the '90s."

Thanks for the news. I have her earlier projects but just couldn't muster any interest with her last release, which seemed really conventional and watered-down.

^Yeah, hoping the new one is good. Wasn't crazy about "Courage".

New September 21 album Ithaca (Decca) promises a more tightly focused production lens and lead track "Music In Me" is a dramatic example, building from strings and stuttered percussive beginnings to a grand-scale, soaring anthem.
