I'm not usually crazy about LIVE recordings, but I prefer "Reasons" on the "Gratitude" album. I really love the back & forth between Philip Bailey & Andrew Woolfolk in that version, not to mention; it was the first song I learned to "Slow Grind" to. It's easily one of my top 100 favorite songs of all time.

I recently told this story on another thread:

One of my fondest memories is from the night before I graduated from Undergrad. My friends and I all camped out in one apartment for our last night together, and the 10 of us played EWF all night, drunk off our asses. lol

The next morning, the guy down the hall said, "Did I hear 'Reasons' at 2 o'clock this morning?"

giggle

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

lol

I always heard Earth Wind and Fire around the house a lot. It's my father's favorite band.

I love Reasons.

For me it was the same but it was my moms favorite band. I was pretty young but remember dancing around to them with my mom whenever she put them on - which was a lot! smile

I feel ya. EWF's music is so strong I get to cryin when I hear "Love's Holiday", "Be Ever Wonderful" "After The Love Is Gone", "Land Called Fantasy", "Wait" "Where Have All The Flowers Gone" "Keep Your Head To The Sky" "Devotion".....Y'know my granny played "The Ways Of The World" album so much I damn near had it memorized in my head at 12-13 yrs old lol biggrin

THAT'S THE ONE!!! excited I'd recognize those first 4 High-Hat hits anywhere! I can't tell you how much this song means to me (this particular version). This was the one I heard first, so the studio version was always a bit of a letdown for me.

And much like Andy, I've long since lost count of how many times I've made love to this song, including the vertical love-making on the dance floor. This song is pure magic, and will always be one of my favorites.
