nod Nice jam. I'm feelin' it. Love how the bass and guitar are locked into playing the same line.

But I hate when bands put their album title in between two parts of their name. I know this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the song. I just hate it. lol

I got lotsa stuff like this. These guys are only just over a decade old, believe it or not. They never get enough attention.

From their 2006 album, Practice What You Preach. One of the best modern funk albums, if i may add.

I'll be posting more bands etc over time.

This is one of those bands that DJ Pari was promoting on his radio show. I heard some of their stuff on YouTube, some good stuff. Thanks.

It's actually a 1993 release, orginally on Soulciety Records. Daptone just picked it up as a re-issue. The Poets are from Munich, Germany, and they are (rightfully) credited with starting the new deep Funk movement for live bands. They have released a lot of material since, under a variety of names, and most releases are 45s on obscure indie-labels.

I must of picked up a re-release.

Yup, like the Whitefield Brothers, who i will post later. Just all around fantastic.
