New Edition/New Kids on the Block Apreciation Thread

I decided to merge my 2 threads of New Edition and New Kids on the Block since they both came from Boston, MA and were produced by Maurice Starr, so you guys can talk and discuss different things, but absolutely, positively ................................. NO BASHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does saying Boooooooooo @ New Kids on the Block count as bashing? hmmm

I grew up with New Edition. At the time there was New Edition and the Puerto Rican group Menudo. Both were great groups., and pretty much captured all of the Urban audience ranging from pre-teens to young adults.

Although it has been alleged that Maurice Star was cruel and shady, he was however a genius to tap into the Urban market at the time that there was an void in the market for a boy band. Candy Girl was my generation's version of "ABC" by the Jacksons. Sometime's the DJ would mix both of those songs together and appeared to be in the same key.

Band members from New Edition went on to do great things before pretty much fizzling out. However I hope that there will be some sort of a reprise.

Maurice Start displayed his genius again by tapping the Non-Urban market and providing a non-urban boy band. New Kids on the Block was definitely out of my league when it came to the age of the band as well as their performance. I really never liked them.

Although I'm your biggest fan...I'm also your biggest critic. Can you deal with that?

I went to see NKOTB June 19th at Radio City Music Hall. Not really a fan, just curious plus I didn't realize they were in there 40s. THEY PUT ON A GREAT SHOW!!!!! Excellent showman. These guys really have respect the New Edition and other R&B artist. I always get the feeling that they kinda feel bad that NE didn't same financial reward as they did. NKOTB left their situation rich men.

No offence JabarR74 but all you seem to do is post endless amount of videos off youtube. Thats all well and good, but some comments about how you feel about their music or whatever would be kinda nice lol

LOL fair enough, but I mainly come on this website to read comments, not look at people merely posting youtube videos.lol

No time to watch even half of them LOL. Didn't buy NKOTB's last album. May buy it cheap I guess. I thought "Face the music" was an honest album and good closure for the group that had outgrown their fanbase. Then they cameback LOL. Iam happy for them but Problem is that they are doing modern sounding rnb that I just don't like much. At least New Edition's last album still had Jam and Lewis, who know their sound back to front. Heck, get Maurice Starr back for a few tracks, that could be interesting lol

"face the music" is probably one of my favourite albums, so Iam a fan of their stuff. I wish Jordan Knight wasn't dropped after his first album as I thought he had some potential. That was a good album.

As for New Edition, I have all their work and virtually all their solo work, and their last album "One love", surprised me by having afew really nice, mature cuts.

If there's any news about NE and/or NKOTB, post it here! That way, there's no confusion, nor complaints.
