Janet Jackson's First Concert Since Michael's Death

Janet Jackson made her first live performance in two years Friday night at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, and by the looks of it, the 44-year-old pop icon worked her butt off.

A glistening Jackson wore a futuristic looking silver number at the event, which she headlined, and was accompanied by a bevy of backup dancers. In concertgoer videos, Jackson's voice sounds strong and the crowd certainly enjoyed the rare performance, her first since her brother Michael's death. It's also the singer's only scheduled concert for 2010, so if you missed it, too bad! Watch Ms. Jackson perform 'Let's Wait Awhile' and check out pics from the event, after the jump!

Unfortunately when older women want to "jump start", or just hang on to the remaining career that they have left, they oftentimes feel that there is no other option but to take off more clothes. Kinda sad in my opinion...but it happens nonetheless.

Seriously? On the org? The mountains of T&A that has been shown here from all kinds of sources, and not just from performers, and a this shot of a performance is a problem, well ok.

I was specific and obvious about what I meant about her confidence. Janet all her life as felt a bit of shame because of the form of her body type, along with her "Joker" smile. Seems like she's finally gotten past that this point in her life. And taking in account of how old she is, I think I need to hold my head down in shame. I still say good for her for embracing herself and embracing it publicly.

Janet will always be Janet , I hope she doesn't go madonna's route and strip just to get attention, It doesn't look good at all........
