Journalist´s idiocy is neverending. chair brick hammer

Apparently the journalist was born in 1990 and didn't know MJ revealed he had vitiligo in 1993 both during the Oprah interview and then during his televised Dec. 1993 press conference.

Frank DiLeo talks about MJ's new album in November.

“There are a couple of songs we recorded for the ‘Bad’ album that we had to cut that are just sensational,” DiLeo said. “Every time that [Jackson] recorded, he over-recorded. He would record anywhere from 20 to 30 songs for each album,” former Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola told RS last year. Any of them could have been as big a hit as the ones that came out.” One of the most noteworthy tracks was a “Thriller” outtake titled “Don’t Be Messin’ Around.” Other candidates include any of the reported five songs that Jackson recorded with Will.i.am.

Again, they mention "Don't Be Messin Around". I thought that was supposed to be on Thriller 25? Lets hope we hear it

I'm not sure if Don't Be Messin' Around is from the Thriller. The small clip I heard is definitely not from the Thriller era, but probably from the Bad or Dangerous sessions (1986-1990)

^^ I always get apprehensive with outtakes. Sure there have been some great songs that didn't make the cut - but for me there were also lesser songs that were kept off for good reason.

I just hope the same quality control that existed then still does now and isn't just a result of "oh we need to make it a 16 track album, lets include X".

It's nice though to think we might hear new music from MJ - as it had been too long.

New Michael Jackson album of unreleased material to hit shelves in November

Friday, July 30th 2010, 3:03 PM

A new album of unreleased Michael Jackson music is due to be released in November, according to Rolling Stone.

A new album of unreleased Michael Jackson music is due to be released in November, according to Rolling Stone.

And so it begins.

According to Rolling Stone, a new Michael Jackson album containing 10 unreleased tracks will hit shelves in November. Rodney Jerkins, who produced 2001's "Invincible" (Jackson's final studio album before his death last year) is preparing the tracks on the disk.

The album is reportedly set to be the first step of a seven-year, $250 million deal between the Jackson estate and Sony Music that will include new albums, rereleases and other projects with the King of Pop's distinctive stamp.

It also resolves, at least in some manner, the question of exactly what Jackson left behind in his fabled hard drives of unreleased music. Rolling Stone reports that, in addition to the material from the new album, Jackson's "vaults" contain up to 100 unreleased tracks, most of which stemmed from the singer's prime in the ’80s.

Frank DiLeo, Jackson's manager, also confirmed to Rolling Stone that the hard drives included outtakes from the '90s and Jackson's rumored collaborations with Akon and will.i.am from the past decade.

Jackson is hardly the first performer whose career lasted well beyond his death. Seven original Tupac Shakur albums have been released since his murder in 1996. Johnny Cash's first No. 1 album was released in 2006, three years after he died from diabetes complications. However, the Sony Music deal, which also encompasses a potential Cirque du Soleil show, is the most lucrative.

Most interestingly is a dance-karaoke hybrid video game, which Rolling Stone reported will figuratively put fans in Jackson's shoes as they moonwalk across the world and throughout his career.

"It all boils down to the full performance … dancing, singing, a combination of setting and interactivity," international brand manager Felicia Williams told the mag. "Being able to perform as him is a fantasy you've never been able to realize until now."

It's odd that "For All Time" was included in the "Thriller 25" and that was recorded in '89 and then we have "Don't Be Messin' Around" that was presumably cut in '87 and that was also gonna be included. I guess both songs were written years before he recorded them. I think "Don't Be Messin' Around" is an MJ composition, right?

Frank DiLeo says it's from the Thriller era. Bruce Swedien mentioned it back in July 2009, but didn't say what era it was from. Did Bruce work with MJ during Dangerous?

It could be from an earlier session because the version I heard is definitely from the late 80s or 1990

It sounds somewhere in the middle ground of Post-Thriller and Pre-Bad personally to me. Can't really tell a great deal from such a short clip though.

Excerpt from an article back in 2007 during the Thriller 25 campaign.

In addition, Lopez says that four tracks left off "Thriller" in 1983 will be included. Jackson’s longtime producer Bruce Swedien, who no longer works with the pop star, told me that one track he knows of is a killer. It’s called "Don't Be MessinAround." Swedien doesn’t know any of the other tracks left off the album but said there may be some out there.
