Chairmen of the Board-Life & Death(by Sly Stone)

Sly Stone wrote the song "Life & Death in G & A".

It was recorded by "Abaco Dream" in 1969 and

Joe Hicks in 1970.

Those two versions are available on the cd "Listen to the voices-Sly Stone in the studio 1965-1970"

I think this is a superior version of the song "Life & Death" tho.

This is from the Detroitband "Chairmen of the board"'s album "Skin I'm In"
that came out 1972.

Aperantly they used the "Funkadelic" rhythm section so it's got
Eddie Hazel on guitar and Bernie Worrell on the keys.

They are not credited on the albumcover tho.

Amazing track!!PHEW! 10 min of pure blissy funkiness!

Sly should have kept this one for himself lol

Wow!

The song itself is something to behold. I've been addicted to Joe Hicks' version from the "Listen to The Voices" set eversince I got a hold of it, but this one easily takes the cake and the icing too.

My god disbelief Bernie, Eddie and Mr.Stewart,,,,talk about a combination.

Speaking of uncredited, my uncle to this day swears up and down that Sly had something to do with

Billy Preston's "Nothing From Nothing", that he wrote/played/sang background in the song anonymously.

He wouldn't hear of it when I told him that Bobby Fisher co-wrote the song with Preston lol the song does sound like it came from Sly Stone's world though, but I'm not sure that he was involved in it unless there's a concrete proof.

This is a posting of more than just "Life & Death in G&A". This posting contains two other songs and part 2 of "Life & Death in G&A".

I dig Sly's version and this version. Eddie and Bernie were holding it down on the LP.

Love at First Sight is tight too.

That would have been cool, if they'd done this session together..

We got pretty close to that combonation on The Electric Spanking of War Babies LP.

hmmm They worked together before.. you never know lol
